Resident Evil 7 is a revitalization of the Resident evil series, a great comeback for a series that has been stuck in an "identity crisis" for a long time. This is the most horror focused resident evil game that has ever come out in my opinion.

The game starts with narration from the main protagonist "Ethan" as he talks about his search for his wife Mia who has been gone for three years, he receives a video from her and he goes searching for her. I won't spoil more here, the story takes some interesting turns as you uncover more and more of the truth of what has happened.

The gameplay is in first person for the first time in the series and for the most part this works fine, the perspective change does a great job in immersing you in the world and makes alot of the scares work great. The combat however can be a little hit or miss.(literally) With the way the perspective and overall "speed" of the game is it can be a little hard hitting accurately.(might just be me) And you will be scavenging for supplies with a lot of weight on inventory managment and you will have to learn the layout of the baker estate akin to how the older Resident evil games play.

Resident evil 7 uses the RE engine made specifically for RE7 and it looks great with a photorealistic graphic style. It also runs very good, even on my potato PC i was able to achieve a stable high framerate on medium-high settings with little hickups.

A great comeback for the Resident Evil series, and a must buy for survival horror fans. Me personally prefer the third-person perspective in resident evil games, but i can't deny that this game is great and i recommend it.
