I've played both the original Rome: Total War and this one and this one is a huge improvement over the original one.

This game is very complex and very challenging but fun to play. To be able to do well in it without any cheats or mods requires you to really think creatively and to be able to adapt well to changing situations. It's hard but not impossible to do well in.

Yes, probably my favorite strategy game every as it feels very realistic but is also fun, easy to learn, and progresses well but unfortunately it's combat system is very primitive and the AI is extremely aggressive even on Adept/Normal.

I have played many games, many strategy games, and many turn-based strategy games over many years and with all due respect I feel that this is the best turn-based strategy game overall of all of the ones that I've played. In my opinion this game is well-balanced, has good graphics, and ample content. I've played probably over 700 hours of this game and I'm still not completely tired of it yet. That goes to say a lot for it. I would recommened this game for anyone who is willing to invest at a least moderate amount of time in it and who has at least adequate patience. I've played most of the Civlization games and this is the best one by far. I highly recommened this game along with all of it's DLCS.
