The perfect combination of SPAZ and Starsector

All around solid additions to the base game

It doesn't compare to the originals, but it still does a good job at scratching that stompy-robot itch

As someone with nearly 3,000 matches logged in this game, I absolutely love it. However, it's not without its faults.

• The new user experience is rough. Some very important mechanics are not explained very clearly. Most notable are ghost heat and min/max ranges for certain weapons.
  
• The economy is slow until you really start to know what you're doing, but even then it's still a drag.
  
• PGI has made some very questionable descisions in the past regarding gameplay, balance, and community management.

Now, for some good.

• The mech combat is absolutely satisfying. Sparks will fly, lasers will wub, cannons will dakka, and teammates will block your tactical withdraw.
  
• Mechs are insanely customizable. You want a lumbering assault mech that will strike fear in your enemies? Sure. You want a nimble scout mech to designate missile targets? Go ahead. You want a mech that generates so much heat you explode after firing once? Absolutely.
  
• The community is very passionate, for better or worse.

All in all, if you want a satisfying mech combat game, this is your best bet. It's free, so if you're interested, it doesn't hurt to give it a try.
