Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for the Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is a good platforming game that is a remaster of the original 2003 version. As a Spongebob fan, it’s great to revisit locations from the show and listen to the characters interact. If you are a Spongebob fan or are a fan of relaxing platformers, I definitely recommend picking this game up.

• -No way to respawn during a match, meaning that if you die early on in a match with a squad, you will be watching for the rest of the match with the ability to still ping. Thankfully, matches are on the shorter side, meaning you will not be watching for too long.
  
• -There could be more game modes

Super Animal Royale is a good game that is easy to pick up. There are a lot of different ways to customize your character and a decent amount of weapons and equipment to find during a match. If you are looking for a battle royale that does not have a very high learning curve, this game is worth taking a look at.

Okami is a great game that takes inspiration from The Legend of Zelda games before Breath of the Wild. You travel through the world helping people and restoring the land. You also fight against many different kinds of enemies. Overall, Okami is a great game that is worth playing through, especially if you enjoyed The Legends of Zelda games before Breath of the Wild, such as Ocarina of Time. Just be aware that this is basically a remaster of the PS2 version of the game that originally came out in 2006. It has a 30 FPS cap and the game looks blurry without mods. If you are okay with this, the game is definitely worth playing.

Batman: Arkham City released in 2011, but it still plays well in 2022. The combat is very satisfying and the story was interesting to play through. I highly recommend getting this game, especially if you are a Batman fan.

• -Since the game is a remake of the first Yakuza game, going from Yakuza 0 to Yakuza Kiwami can feel like a step down, especially since Yakuza 0 has a lot more content

Yakuza Kiwami is a good game that also feels like a step down to Yakuza 0. That is because this game is a remake of the first yakuza game while Yakuza 0 is a brand new game even though Yakuza 0 is a prequel. However, as a remake, Yakuza Kiwami is still good, but the combat can get annoying at times since some enemies tend to block or dodge your attacks a lot and sometimes have a lot of health. This is especially bad with later encounters with Majima in Majima Everywhere in which Majima has a bunch of health. Regardless, I enjoyed the story and side content enough that I still recommend this game to anyone who is interested in playing through the Yakuza series.

Amid Evil is a solid retro-styled fps that has several episodes, each consisting of three levels and one boss fight. While a few of the weapons feel like a bit weak, the gameplay is still great overall. If you are a fan of retro-styled shooters or fps games in general, I recommend taking a look at this game. Just be aware that Amid Evil is on the shorter side, so if you plan on only playing through it once, it might be better to buy the game when it is on sale.

• -The optimization could be better. There are times when the game stutters or freezes for a second or so. The game can also crash from time to time.

• -Once you get to the final major region of the game, many enemies and bosses feel like they do too much damage, especially since some of them have fast combos

Elden Ring is an amazing game that has a very strong start. The combat is fun and builds upon the combat from the Dark Souls games. There are many different enemies and bosses to fight against in the game and a lot of content to go through. Along with the legacy dungeons, there are also smaller side dungeons and several optional areas to explore. Unfortunately, once you get to a certain major area, the enemies and bosses feel like they are too strong. Many of these enemies and bosses also have fast attacks, meaning that one quick combo can finish you off, even if you have high health and defense. This did bring down the experience a bit, but I still enjoyed playing through the game. Hopefully, these enemies and bosses will be toned down in the future.

The PC port could also be better. The game ran okay for me, but I did get stutters from time to time and the game crashed a few times. The online experience is also iffy since you can get randomly disconnected from a co-op session. Hopefully, these issues will be ironed out in future patches.

Overall, if you are a fan of the Dark Souls games, I highly recommend getting Elden Ring. Just be aware that the PC port has issues and it may or may not run well for you. If the optimization is improved and later enemies and bosses are toned down, I think Elden Ring will become a fantastic game.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a very good game with a great story and solid voice acting. There’s plenty of dialogue to listen to and a good amount of lore to read through. You only play as Star-Lord, but you are able to command the other Guardians to use their abilities. Unfortunately, I did encounter a few bugs that required me to reload from the previous checkpoint, but they were minor setbacks. Overall, I recommend taking a look at Guardians of the Galaxy if you are looking for a great story, especially if you are a Marvel fan.

Hollow Knight is a fantastic game with one of the best combat and movement systems I have experienced in a metroidvania. There is plenty of content to play through and some of the boss fights are very well done. Even after you defeat the final boss, there are still many challenges that you can take on. I did find myself getting confused from time to time about where I should be going, but I was eventually able to figure it out. Overall, I had a great time playing through Hollow Knight. I highly recommend picking it up. It is worth the retail price and it is definitely worth the sale price.

Transistor is a decent game that has a unique combat system. The combat is action-based, but you can also pause time and unleash multiple abilities at once. However, you will not be able to use most of your abilities until your turn meter fully recharges. I found that the combat lacked impact, which made the game not as enjoyable for me since there are many combat scenarios. I also did not find the overall story to be interesting. There were certain parts that interested me, but I did not find many other parts of the story engaging. Overall, if the ability customization and the pausing time in combat feature interest you, I recommend taking a look at Transistor, especially when it is on sale.
