Monster Hunter Rise is not a bad game, but something felt off when I was playing it. I finally realized that the combat lacks impact for me. I played Monster Hunter World before playing Rise and World’s combat felt satisfying. Rise also does not feel as immersive as World, but that’s likely because Rise was designed to run on the Nintendo Switch.

While I cannot recommend getting Rise, if you are interested in trying this game, there is a demo available. Try the demo and if you enjoy the combat, then it might be worth buying this with the expansion.

When I first started playing Dragon Quest Builders 2, I had fun. It was great to build on the first major story island (Furrowfield) and explore it. However, after finishing Furrowfield, I realized there was one aspect of the game that was bringing the game down: the repetitive dialogue. Whenever you complete an objective, there are usually several text boxes of dialogue and most of the time, there’s nothing really new or interesting being said. I noticed some objectives I had to do and jokes that were repeated multiple times. This got annoying after some time and along with the simplistic combat system, the game started to get repetitive. Once I got to the second major island, I decided to stop playing the game since I wasn’t enjoying it anymore.

While I cannot recommend this game, there is a demo available for this game. It looks like most of the first major story island is available. If you’re interested in this game, I recommend trying out the demo first. If you still want to keep playing after finishing the demo, you can carry over the progress from the demo into the main game if you buy this game.

Vampire Survivors is a solid game that makes you feel powerful at times. There's a good amount of content and there are plenty of unlockables, including characters and items. It can get repetitive, but it's worth checking out, especially since the price is low. If you enjoy the base game, I recommend taking a look at the DLCs.

God of War is a great game with a solid combat system and story. You don’t need to play the previous God of War games to understand the story in this game, but it would be good to at least watch a summary video of their story. This game does make references to the previous games, so knowing the story will help you understand them.

The only major complaint I have with this game is the boss variety. It felt like there weren't that many unique boss fights in the game. For example, there is one boss you fight early on. Several of the later boss fights are just a variation of this boss fight. This could have been better.

Overall, I definitely recommend buying God of War. It originally came out in 2018 on the PS4, so I think the regular price on PC (at the time of this review at least) is a little steep. However, it is absolutely worth getting on sale.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a fantastic CRPG. Compared to Divinity Original Sin 2 (the developer’s previous game), this game has a much better presentation. The combat is great and there are multiple classes available. You can choose multiple classes on the same character. There are a lot of different decisions you can make that can affect the story. This means that there is a lot of replayability. A playthrough can easily last over 80 hours (especially your first one), so if you play this game multiple times, you can easily spend hundreds of hours.

The only real complaint (though it’s a minor complaint) I have with this game is it can be easy to miss content if you’re not careful. For example, in Act 2, you can miss certain events in a location (let’s say a tower) if you go to another location first (let’s say a temple) and get too far in it. You can easily come across the temple before the tower. There is a warning message that appears if you get too far in the temple, but I searched online just to make sure I was about to go through a point of no return.

Overall, I highly recommend this game to anyone that enjoys RPGs. This game has a lot of content and the story and world are interesting. It’s worth full price and it’s definitely worth it on sale.

Guild Wars 2 is an excellent MMORPG with an active community, a solid combat system and lots of content. It has horizontal progression, meaning that content doesn’t get outdated. There are people playing almost all of the content. Some content is not played often and it can be hard to get enough people to play it, such as Dragon Response Missions. However, you can use the LFG tool and also join up to five guilds to find people to play with.

If you are looking for an MMO to play, I definitely recommend Guild Wars 2. While the base game is free, you will have to buy the expansions. At the time of this review, there are four expansions and there is a living world collection. If you enjoy the base game, I definitely recommend getting the expansions, especially when they are on sale.

Once Human is a good free to play game. I had fun playing it, but the reason why I stopped playing was because the game is currently seasonal based. While some things carry over between seasons, such as weapon blueprints, I am not a fan of having to level back up to max level again (currently level 50) since the first two seasons are only six weeks long. The second season is also going to take place in a different part of the map. However, the developers are listening to feedback, so the seasons may last longer (or even permanently) in the future.

Overall, I recommend trying this game out if it interests you. It’s free to play friendly (at the time of this review at least) and there’s a decent amount of content to experience. I will be keeping an eye on this game and may try it out again depending on future updates.

Warframe is a great game that has quite a bit of content. It looks like the game will still be supported for a long time and there are a lot of players, so it’s still worth jumping in. Warframe is more of a power fantasy, but there are times when it gets difficult.

I recommend giving Warframe a try since it's free. Just be aware that it can be confusing at first for a new player. You’ll most likely have to look up some guides.

If you enjoyed the base game, I recommend getting this expansion. It adds more monsters and has a good endgame. The clutch claw it adds can be annoying to use, but if you get its upgrades for tenderizing monsters and/or play with other players, it's not as bad. However, if you play solo and don't use it at all, your hunts will likely last longer. Tenderizing monster parts is strong and some weapon require hitting a part twice in order for it to be tenderized. This brought down the combat for me when I played solo, but I still had fun playing through the expansion.

Monster Hunter: World is a great game with a very satisfying combat system. It can take a while to get used to, but there are several weapons to choose from. The game can get challenging at times, but you can get help from other players and they can join your hunt to defeat the monster. Overall, if you enjoy challenging games and like games where you essentially fight against bosses, I definitely recommend taking a look at this game. I also recommend the Iceborne expansion.
