gathering + crafting simulator in a huge empty area that occasionally have enemies that are very buggy and annoying to fight

UI is monstrously bad and awful to navigate to the point it takes away from the gameplay

not understanding the hype. regret buying.

buggy and overpriced DLC. don't bother.

Fast paced and fun. Competitive if you want to be. Highly recommended for any word game geeks.

Be prepared to think you're a superstar until you hit 5k MMR lol

would love to see the devs focus on some of the issues with the engine but its one of the best games ever made just play it

So i wanted to like this game, I really did. I read the reviews posted by the people who waited on this games development for years, who loved the concept and promoted it. The thing I learned is, don't really listen to those people.

Ill start with the most important thing: This game is not finished. It is incomplete. It feels incredibly empty. There is no end game. It is one of the best examples I've run into of a 'sandbox' label being slapped on simply because of a lack of content/direction/literally any reason to do anything other than BM the AI cities or 'rpg'.

Don't get me wrong, this game is really cool concept. The problem is that *nothing* was done with that concept that is remotely interesting or exciting. I actually feel a little cheated to work my way through the absurd early game difficulty ramp, horrendous AI pathing/behaviour, and general grind only to find... nothing. Every city has identical shops, items of quality, etc. Carbon copy areas of each other that contain items to make your units *even more* OP so you can fight... uh... literally nothing.


As an RPG/RTS combo, it's a fairly fun game. But beware the fanboy reviews - they really don't paint any picture of what this game is. It's a concept game with no content. I would definitely pick this up on sale just to mess around with it for a bit, but honestly just don't get into it. You'll end up feeling really unrewarded and just.. kinda... bad.


Edit: I just wanted to point out that it looks like I have a ton of hours on this - It's actually closer to 40-50 but I left the game open so it looks like a lot more.

this game is incredibly deep, with a wonderful modding community that takes it to an entirely new level

if you've ever enjoyed played any SimCity\Cities XL style game then you need to get your hands on this. prepare to head down a never ending tunnel of creation
