Early Access Review
I like the idea they are going for in this game but I feel it's not going in the right direction. I got this game expecting a town management sandbox with RTS controls and zombie hoards. What I got was steampunk Starcraft with zombie hoards, horrible town management mechanics, and a terrible build zone/ building size ratio.

It needs less RTS and more sandbox. Population shouldn't be directly tied to number of houses or tents like in Age of Empires. The building grid size needs to be smaller as well as the buildings themselves and the starting building area needs to be increased. The players should be able to choose where to put the first command center.

Unfortunately, I must request a refund as I'm sure this game is too far developed for the devs to consider doing a 180 in its design to make it the game I thought it was. Maybe I just misunderstood what the game was really about.

At first I thought this would be the game I was looking for when I first saw it a couple years ago. I had gotten an itch for some Dwarf Fortress-style management but didn't want to mess with the interface or the ASCII graphics. This seemed to be a more modern, dumbed down approach to the genre that I was interested in.

Unfortunately, the greatest challenge of this game isn't protecting your town from invaders or trying to find ways to keep everyone happy when you have a population built above 200 people. The greatest challange is to get the few people you start with to not hoard all the food in the village. I checked forums on how to stop this rediculous behavior and they said I needed a market. I built a market but the problem persisted. I checked again. They said the market needed to be fully staffed. Well that would mean that most of my population would be working that market and the rest would have to be fishermen. I still did it anyway and the problem didn't go away.

If you're looking for a "starve my neighbors" simulator, this game is probably the closest you'll find.
