Incompetent zoomer gamedevs ruining legendary series, vol. 69.

Atrocious controls no matter which scheme you use. How do you mess up camera controls so badly in a game like this? This problem was already SOLVED almost quarter a century ago in Homeworld 1. All you had to do is copy someone's homework, and you still somehow managed to f*ck that up.

Rancid woke story about girlbosses in space. My feelings, her feelings, our feelings, how do you feel. I can bet any amount of money that writing room for this was filled with pink haired women with pronouns in their Twitter bio, who didn't even bother trying to understand what Homeworld was about, and just decided to make it just like their favorite Marvel movies.

Cutscenes are so bad that I honestly couldnt not laugh. Random rule34 p*rn these days has better quality models and animations than your 60 USD (plus season pass!) videogame. Just look at this, this is an actual cutscene from this game. Just look at it.

And then as if all above wasnt enough, your community manager in the Steam forum is currently going full berserk permabanning people left and right, and trying to censor. Hilarious.

Good job typing up that roadmap filled with DLCs for the next several years, I guess. I wonder how many of those will you manage to put out before your studio is taken behind the woodshed after this failure.

What's the point of having closed beta, then open beta, then one demo, then another demo if you're going to ignore all the feedback?

* no rebindable controls
* healing is still a non-replenishable consumable that you need to farm for or buy
* parry is two-button press for whatever reason, on top of being absolute jank to begin with
* no video settings of any kind

We told you about all these problems many months ago, how do you release a game without fixing any of it? How do you release a game in 2023 without rebindable controls? Castlevania had it in 1997.

Also: you cant pause the game. Just like in Souls and Bloodborne. Except, the reason why thats a thing there is because of constant online interactivity in those games. Last Faith is a singleplayer game.

Between copying bad elements from Bloodborne and the mentioned above no pause, this game and its relationship to From Software titles really makes you think of those tribal people that ended up carving out wooden clubs in the shape of muskets. No understanding of why something exists or how it works, just blindly copying it (including copying the mistakes, like the vials from BB).

Will update this review when/if listed problems are fixed, but for now its a negative. Nice art is not enough to carry game when there are critical gameplay elements missing.

Combat is so unbelievably bad that it makes you laugh, enemies and bosses have the most pathetic, non-threatening movesets I've ever seen in a game like this

Despite having topdown perspective and attacks being in all directions, there are only two animations for every character, left and right - so even when you or enemy is actually attacking up, you still see it as "left attack" or "right attack"; this is incredibly lazy

Amateurish level design of samey copypasted environments with very little intent behind them, navigation is tedious both because of lack of landmarks, ingame map or sensible way of guiding the player through the level

No rebindable controls

Stay away.
