The writing is horrible. The characters are cringe. The gameplay is boring. Ending spoilers: The multiverse is fake and... there are no words to express the disdain I feel for it.

The gameplay is satisfying and intense. The atmosphere and the aesthetics are excellent and true to 40k. Played since launch and have not had too many issues with performance, and the few bugs I have encountered are forgiving. If you can't tolerate some aspects of RNG and adapt to what the game gives you, then you won't enjoy the game, as shown by most negative reviews.

It's simple to get into and shortly you might find yourself keep wanting to do another turn. The aesthetics represents the Warhammer setting properly. The gameplay provides for various tactics and strategies. The faction differences keeps things interesting. The game falls short in sound effects, music and story. Some quality of life that I'd like to see is the ability for the last AI faction to resign when it no longer stands a chance against the player. The need to destroy the final cities in order to finish the game is an unnecessary and tedious experience.

The review is based of my playthrough as the Space Marines in a free for all mode with Necrons, Astra Militarum and Orks as opponents.

The absolute lack of immersion due to the world not having a reasonable and consistent lore brings this down to a bottom tier alone. The wars also quickly turn into muddled messes with a heavy focus on ship stacking and tech rushing. There's some satisfaction in creating and cultivating your own civilization, expanding and developing your assets, but that's about it. Also, what's up with the time scope? The idea that the time span of an era of colonizing spacefaring societies would be limited to a few hundred years is absurd.

If you like the idea of every single sci-fi series merged together into one clown show, then this game is for you.

Good but overrated.

Positives:
Dark Souls combat.
Big world.
Build creativity.
Aesthetics.

Negatives:
Too fast paced combat. I prefer the slower and more tactical combat in Dark Souls 1 and 2.
Hard to read many of the bosses' attack moves.
Horse gameplay feels too cheesy and out of place.
The companion summon system (spirits can be used to aid you in boss fights) is not fullfilling.
Too much of everything and the open world itself did not feel fulfilling.

Engrossing grim dark setting. Good balance between fantasy and realism to get you immersed, Challenging game with plenty to discover.

+ Nostalgia. It is an absolute classic. Maybe the first FPS I played back in the day.
+ Very cool laboratory environments in the american desert.
+ Engaging combat with a good variety in weaponry.
+ Insane end of the world scenario and aliens to kill. Trust the science!
+ What the hell is going on??? Interesting lore to be found on the internet that explains things.

- The sound design and soundtrack were generally better in the original.
- The section of the game set in Xen was too long and should have been shortened. An improvement compared to the original though.
- Xen also suffers from annoying platforming.

Completed the game on hard difficulty.

Hello hello, hello hello, hello hello,

The sense of discovery, the industrial environments, the overall atmosphere, the shooting and the looting were the strongest features. I also appreciated that it wasn't too spooky, so if you don't like horror that's a plus.

I was expecting more of an open world experience, but the game failed in that regard which is a shame because I think it would have worked perfectly with the setting. The maps aren't very big and you're forced to take the same linear paths as you have to go back and forth several times between locations.

The game varies from being a slow paced open world RPG kind of experience to being an intense ♥♥♥♥ show shooting fiesta. The end was especially chaotic.

Apparently I also got the bad ending which kinda sucks because it was bad.
