Overall 75/100.
I have completed 2 play-through's acquiring every collectible and doing all the exploration.
The story is pretty good throughout with clear direction and character development, and the final mission and conclusion of the game are great.

The player progression is good, though i would love to have more force powers.

The graphics are beautiful, and i can consistently get 70-90 fps at 1440p UW. However, there are FREQUENT stutters, which i hear are a common issue resulting from shaders in Unreal Engine.

There are 2 major downsides to this otherwise great game: backtracking/no fast travel, and clumsy combat.

The exploration is fun to do once, but i do not recommend even bothering with it until you unlock all of the traversal abilities. The game really suffers from the lack of a fast travel mechanic, which is amplified by some collectibles and puzzles being gated behind story progression traversal ability unlocks, and the devs liked to place things so that you have to go run back through everything multiple times, and it can be such a drag. Luckily, most of these collectibles are cosmetic, but there are some force/life/stim upgrades too. Zeffo is probably the worst example of this, and all the backtracking was the single thing that made me want to turn the game off and not play anymore.

The combat is honestly very mid. After two full play-through's it still hasnt really clicked. There are times where i execute things perfectly and it feels great, and then other times when, even fighting the same type of enemy, i botch everything terribly and i have no idea why. There are of course times when i clearly make a mistake or flub the timing etc., but most of the time i feel like i am fighting the controls of the game rather than fighting the enemies. Luckily you can adjust the difficulty so all of the "WTF that is BS" moments are not too punishing.

Supreme disappointment. I didnt being the other negative reviews, but this is just so boring. I loved total annihilation, supcom, and supcom forged alliance, but this game isn’t it. Go play Beyond All Reason and support those devs making an awesome successor to TA.

There has never been a game that i have simultaneously loved and hated as much as destiny 2. Eventually the hate won, and i am never going back to this game.

I bought this game because i heard how great the writing was and other good things, but, meh. Granted i havent finished the game, but i also just dont care too.

The gameplay and combat is really boring and tedious. Always doing the same thing with your guns, which have repetitive annoying sounds.

The ‘huddle’ mechanic is the most annoying thing i have ever experienced in a game. You’re in the middle of a firefight and trying to switch from aiming to using an ability but you dont let off the first button fast enough and all the sudden you are in the middle of some dialogue boxes where you have to pick choices that you think the group will like and if you pick right everyone starts doing random things that are super effective for no apparent reason, or if you pick wrong wrong they just yell at you. And the whole time it starts blaring annoyingly loud and annoyingly generic rock music. I hate it.

Back to the yelling. Everything. In. This. Game. Is. Shouted. Its so freaking annoying. Constant shouting all the time. Theres a reason i dont want kids. Every character shouts and acts like a whiny kid. If i have to listen to quill whine-shout “YOU GUYYYYS, COMMMMEE OOOOONNNNN” one more time i will cut my ears out of my head.

Also, i hate scanning mechanics. If you make it so that you can only see things you want to pickup or interact with by making them glow blue when your visor mode is turned on, then it makes you feel like you have to have it on all the time so you dont miss something. So then instead of enjoying the way the game actually looks, you spend half or more of your time with everything looking like an all red 1980s low poly arcade game. Mass effect andromeda had this same “feature” and it was just as terrible in that game.

Throwing rocket over a canyon was fun. Too bad he got so butthurt about it.
