Speaking as someone who last played a Eugen game back when R.U.S.E was still a thing, I heartily recommend WARNO, it's by far the most enjoyable PVP RTS I've played in a very long time, though with some caveats for new players

The first dozen or so hours are gonna be challenging, there's so many systems that interact and things to learn, it's a bit of a curve. With that said, as you progress you're gonna have several moments that I think are best described as "seeing the matrix", where you'll see the lines that make the game work, why you lost that engagement, why you won that other one over there, things start to click

And trust me, the sheer amount of happy chemicals your brain starts to release is quite frankly not fair for other games

I highly recommend WARNO, even if you're a complete rookie to the genre, there's ways to learn and good people around, just don't mind the toxicity you can sometimes run into, when you find the right people boy is it a blast, but it's good solo too :)
