A building has a builder and a painting has a painting. How much more that of everything around us? Nature. Organisms. Etc. Things that are much more complex than a building or a painting. All of this universe points to an intelligent designer, God. If God were not real, there would be no right and wrong, yet our consciences convict us of what is right and wrong, because we are created in the image of God, with morals. If God were not real, it would be okay to go murder someone’s mother because there is no right and wrong, but that is not the case. “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20. God exists.
God created the heavens and the earth and he created man (Adam and Eve). God gave dominion of everything to them but the one tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve ate from it, sinning against God and plunging the entire race into sin and death. We are born sinners, evil in nature, haters of God by nature. At the end of our life we will face God and he will judge and send us to Hell. No matter how ‘good’ a person is. Why does he do that? Because he is just, and cannot let sin go. Imagine there is a criminal who raped and murdered three women, and the judge let the criminal go. Would the judge be good? Of course not. How much more strict is God when he judges. Every lie, every lusting moment, etc will be brought before him and you will be judged for it. However God is a merciful, graceful, and loving God too, and desires to save sinners! How does this work when we are lawbreakers and he is 100% just? How can he let the sinner go and give him eternal life?
Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, the Son of God. God in the flesh came into this world. Fully man. Fully God. He came into this world to save sinners. He lived a sinless life in our place and went to the cross to die for sinners. What exactly was going on there? God the Father was pouring out His wrath on His Son in place of us FOR US. And this wasn’t the Father sacrificing His unwilling Son. No, all 3 Persons of the Trinity decided before even time began that they would save sinners. It should have been you and I on that cross paying for our own sins. Yet Christ came down to die for sinners in their place, sinners who hate him by nature and were the instrument in carrying out his execution and saving work for them! Jesus proved His claims of being the Son of God and therefore validating every word that came from His mouth, and proving that He is the Savior of sinners when he rose from the grave after His death 3 days later.
So how does one get saved? Aren’t there still people going to Hell? Turning from your sin and trusting and putting your faith in Christ to save you from your sin and the penalty of it is how a person is saved. Repent and believe on Jesus to be saved and be given eternal life and a relationship with your Creator, as you were designed for. And who DESIRES to save you. Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus is anyone’s only hope. Turn to Christ and you will be saved. If you do not turn then God himself will rightly cast you into Hell for your sins.
