for the pricetag of 21€ it´s a tough sell.
got it for 3.77€, which is immediatly is a 100% recommend.

1 full playthrough of the steamversion 1.1.
0 mods, 0 patches.
1 crash during heavy reload shopping, which announced itself by stuttering ~10s earlier.
1 black screen when entering the first dungeon (silver mines). reload. problem solved.

9/10 game and fully play-& finishable with no file-tinkering required.

for the price of 3€ (50% during summer sale 2024), an absolute steal.


i pray to the lord that no remade of this game is ever made, for it will be made during the current years, thus every character would be boring and ghey.

the game is pretty good (even tho the constant "balancing" is done by people who obviously dont play the game on higher difficulties).

CEO seems to be a good person with morals, willing to take personal risks in favor of his customers. sadly he also does/did take some stupid decisions, but i guess he´s the kind of guy most of people would forgive those failing very quickly. his heart is in the right spot.

community managers are the WORST kind. actual ideologically perverted reddit moderators (but now get payed lol) that hate customers, gamers, whites, males, straights, etc etc (the whole list). those online jannitors will ban people from the official discord for using the wrong emoji or asking the wrong question. if you think memes aren´t 100% real, you obviously have a lot to learn. also it seems to be impossible for them to remove clownfarmers from the steamforums even if those clownfarmers post a 1:1 copy of the previous clownfarmer. currently there are 3 exact same threads with exact same #1 posts in the forum, however those clownfarmings are also corpo bootlicking (thus they gain clowns), which seems to fall right into the gamer/customer-hating agenda of those jannitors.
it´s really sad that those jobs attract the worst kind of people. hopefully they are payed extremly badly.

better than payday3 in every single aspect, except graphics.
however the game has a ww2 setting and that´s long ago. back then graphics weren´t that good.

+++ zero diversity. extremly refreshing in current year.
+ gunplay is excellent. not all guns are equal, but all are viable to a degree.
- without further research and as non-american i´d say that the weaponsounds aren´t taken from real weapons. havent checked that tho.
+/- melee weapons are all the same statwise. however their only purpose is stealth, so whatever. pick whatever looks cool.
+/- weaponmods are a bit silly (&cursed) but fun. the cosmetic aspect can be reverted back to normal (+), but the improvement cannot (-). example: a 1911 with a tommy gun frontgrip and a 20shot magazine can have the frontgrip removed and a normal mag inserted, however it will still have a 20shot mag.
+/ - only 3 (4) special enemy types (sniper, flamer, commander(, artillery)), which aren´t that special. however lots of different enemy soldier types with different weapons.
+++ plays like oldschool wolfenstein. good times.
+ early payday 2 feels without all the later nonsense.
+ all essential & basic QoL stuff is there.
- options menu is a bit of a mess if you have really high standards. it does the job tho.
+/- optional skins are meh, but no MTX here.
+/- "card-system" is a bit lackluster, but it exists for a bit of extra spice.
+/- usual ww2 shooter music. nothing special, but fits.
++/- playable characters are ok.
+ enemies & alarm-announcements are german and the game doesnt care if you understand that or not.
+ hitler mission outros are hilarious, even when loosing. C&C RA1/2 on pure comedy with the ww2 villain. 10/10.
+++ this is the first dev in decades who had the balls to bring swastikas in a videogame back to germany. no matter how your feels are about swastikas, etc, this is a majorly based move for artistic freedom and against historical revisionism.

2$ during a steamsale. a major steal.
sadly those 2$ go directly to starbreeze, however if you enjoyed payday2, this game easily delivers 100+++ hours of fun.
