I don't understand the hype around this game. It seems like the only people who will enjoy this game are the type that already enjoy D&D. Other than that, pretty lackluster.

Story and theme of the game is the usual 'evil cthulu-esque demon monsters invasion grimdark fantasy' vibe, which I don't like. Graphics and texture issues, unintuitive looting, annoying inventory system where you have to shuffle the stuff you want to sell between your entire party + manually drag items in to squares that don't auto-sort (what is this, fallout 1997?)

Combat is clunky and boring, it also slows down the pacing of the game. I was annoyed that when attacking the enemy my character will attempt to path towards them and get in range, but it almost always leaves you just outside your weapon range and you waste a turn, so you have to always have pin-point precision on where you want to go. When I asked my D&D friend he responded with 'yeah, that's normal' so I have no interest in continuing this game.

Multiplayer is designed in a way that you can miss dialogue accidentally. Missing out on content because of failed dice rolls is also terrible. I don't have time to endlessly replay the game, and I shouldn't have to save scum.

Basically, this game was developed for a highly niche but loyal market. I'm glad those people are finding enjoyment, but please remember that to everyone else this is a decent, mid-tier game.

Nothing grimdark about this game- I dearly wish it was
