ive played sim city, sc2000, sc3, cities XL, cities skylines, and a few other random weird city builder games i found online.... LOOK, this is the CLOSEST i have felt to the original sim city on an;y builder game since that freak with the green hair told me i was doing it all wrong with his flapping arms red flashing lights and wailing sirens.

the seasons change, the roads are much more (SO MUCH) dynamic, the zone concepts are intuitive, the building cosmetics are a huge step up and this is the BASE GAME. There is no parks DLC, no after dark, no transport, industries, japan, korea, africa etc etc etc updates so those who feel the game is 'lacking' are just remembering the whole meal, not the appetiser that came first.

after 10 hours on day 1 - this is without a doubt the most robust city builder since the original sim city and that was the measuring stick for 40 years.

CS2 - on release is NOT perfect, give it time and you'll love it more than you should.

this game is not easy.

you will need to do extra reading, research, and planning. if you want a game you can just pickup and 'go war' this is not that game. this is for meticulous planning, and micromanagement. this game is for nuance, and alt history.

this game is not easy, but it IS fun as hell.

It has bugs. it has glitches. it has hackers. and you can only play ONE character (seriously, wtf)
so, be warned that all of these cause a lot of frustration. i dont know if the dev's are working on these issues, but i still play in spite of them. *BUT FIX THEM!*

Play is easy to pickup and is rewarded with low in-game currency returns. but you can collect them over time, so i have not made additional purchases for extra items. i just saved my pennies, it IS the old west after all.

But the game itself is a crazy fun enterprise. From eating baked beans in a tin, choosing your camp stew, hunting game, drinking whiskey in a bar, having a game of poker against other players in a bar, having a fight in a bar... being arrested, to having a gun fight while drunk and running from the law in a rain storm through a swamp then being eaten by an alligator you didn't see, kind of fun, this game may be for you.
The world, the music... what a brilliant 'cowboy game'.

i had zero experience with a guitar.
my pops got one for a cheap deal in china, shipped it my way.
ive spent a few hours between this and the previous version til its cable died and i had to stop.
im not great, but i get better every time i play. even my wife doesnt leave the room when i play now!

civ meets starship troopers. its good. 4 stars.
