I start up the game. Black screen. I wait. And wait and wait. So this is it, it is not even starting, like many reviewers wrote before?
But suddenly, black turns to grey, with "Cancel" or similar thing written in the top-right corner in some low-res characters.
Some more waiting and things like that, the game starts. Turns out it wants to connect to my EA account but I don't have, so i wont be able to play multiplayer, enjoy online features, etc.
Helloooooo? Have you asked me for my credentials? How do you know I dont have one? Etc etc.

Nevermind. We are at the menu. Since it starts with the wrong screen resolution, I correct it in the settings.
BOOM! The game changes to a nuclear blast level of brightness. No in-game setting can correct it, the monitor's own settings are the same old too. After some digging on the internet, I conclude it magically turned on HDR for the game which it theoretically shouldnt have been able to, and there is no way to turn it off (except by fiddling with a config file).
Oh, btw, menu is the same lowres font, some 20 years behind design tech and aesthetics).
Nevermind, lets start playing already.

Character selection. Some meh faces, whatever. Name you cannot type your own, but use a randomizer, which selects a name randomly... from a pool of 4 or 5 !!! Select voice. Later you will regret it, because the sample sentence was kind of OK, but in-game it turns annoying very quickly.

First mission, scan freighters. I do what i am told, bush the buttons no scanning. I go online again to check for solution. Turns out it is scripted, and 2 freighters activate on your radar in quick succession, and if you start with the 2nd one, the scanning wont work. So scanning is not a real function, just part of the lame mission script!

You try to adjust your controls. You experiment, push a button, and the game nicely says it is already bound to xy other function, and then rebinds it anyway, without giving you an opportunity to cancel. Also, not all functions are present in the config menu! For example, repair or something similar.

Combat starts, feels wery wonky. Graphics is on maximum, but still feels like you are surrounded by paper cutout models. Lightning, shadow, textures, all poor. Videos dont give it back how lame it feels. Maybe another bug, but I am running out of interest or patience.

It only cost me 2 Euros (I waited a long time to try, I never believed for a moment that it will be the "Star Citizen killer" as people advertised it before release) which is not too much even in Eastern Europe, but I am asking for a refund. Companies should not get away with things like this.
