Enjoyable roguelike dungeon crawler. several classes to unlock, different items to find, nothing particularly special or new about this, but easily worth the $1 you can pay to get on humble bundle right now.

Tl;dr: Older game with dated graphics, but gameplay is still solid. Non-symmetrical FPS/RTS gameplay, community isnt huge but you can still find a couple full games even in off-peak hours.

Definitely recommend if you can get it for cheap, If you really liked Nuclear Dawn or other similar games that are dead, give this is a go.

Tl;dr: Prey is the lovechild of System Shock, Half-life, and bioshock, and it is not to be missed.

Prey is definitely a groundbreaking game, which is something extremely hard to pull off in the current era of gaming.
It introduces itself nonchalantly to the player, allowing that player to choose how they proceed with the game.

You're allowed to simply explore the world once entering the main hub, at your own pace, in your own time. There's multiple means of exploring said world, influenced by your choice of gear, paths, and skilltree usage.

What truly makes this shine that regardless of your choice, the game is still challenging. You're forced to use your environment and tools intelligently. Running and gunning is not the best means through this game, in my opinion, but you're still allowed that if thats your playstyle, but the game offers so much more.

Personally, I dont much care for scifi, but this game uses the theme fantastically.
It's definitely a must buy if you're looking for an engaging single player experience.

Tl;dr: How could you justify having this game for $19.99...much less even allow on the store page?

I bought this game forever ago, only just recently played a round with a friend.
After the initial glow, the game begins to show more like a coders first project than an actual game.
Any remark suggesting the AI is interesting is a lie, the gameplay is extremely bare bones.
You walk around an island avoiding enemies, collecting some stones, and then after collecting all the magic stones, you're rewarded with a "cut scene" in which the camera shakes and your character disappears.

There is very little content to the game, and absolutely no reason to play it for more than 30 minutes. The devs have long since abandoned it, with the last update being some time in 2015.

Do not support this kind of gaming culture, in which devs release some shoddy half finished game and cash in.

Don't just take my word for it, look at the reviews and count how many players have more than 1 hour of playtime.

Tl;dr: Price is a little high for what you get, not a lot of content within the base game itself. Despite this, a MUST-play for fans of the original series.

I was surprised with Resident Evil 7.

I'm not a huge fan of the resident evil series, with the later ones being pretty terrible.
This one however, the best way I could describe it is, if Capcom went back to their roots, took a hard look at where they came from and remade resident evil one, but to modern standards.
Almost immediately you'll begin to feel the atmosphere, which reeks of tension and nostalgia. With so many nods and throwbacks to their original game, it almost feels like this is a remake of resident evil one.

That said, there are some flaws that make the game less enjoyable. There's a lack of variety to enemies, only a couple bosses, and few weapons. The few levels that are there, are packed with detail, so it has that going for it.

All in all, I don't feel like it's worth the asking price at this time, and with the fairly small amount content in the base game, the DLC just feels insulting. Though, there is some mention of free DLC coming, but what that includes, I have no idea.

Absolutely worth the purchase, even more so considering its extremely cheap on sale.
The combat is interesting with a lot of advancement available in the game. The building is fun and there's a lot of customization available. Lots of gear and such to find and build, with a decent amount of bosses and "tiers" of gameplay available this game is a must buy for those into voxel based games, though might be not particularly fun if you don't have friends to play with.

Early Access Review
Tl;dr: The forest is a BEAUTIFUL and RICH survival game, with tons of content and struggle. You'll want a decent rig to run it, but if you've got it, you need this.

There's tons of content and more coming frequently, since our last play few just a few months ago we're thinking of playing again because there's been some pretty big updates since.

The mutants provide a constant challenge and you'll need to prepare.

Base-building has tons of options and there's plenty to do, plenty of places to explore and what not.

As far as survival goes, this game is a must try. Even if survival isn't your thing, this game does it well enough that I'd recommend it to introduce you to the scene.

Haven't tried dark souls? Start now!

Sure, it's difficult but oh my god is it rewarding.

The first game holds up incredibly well, with all the best elements of RPG gaming bundled with unforgiving difficulty. I strongly recommend cooping through with some friends.

That said, there are some glaring downsides.
You can't realistically expect to play this game without DSfix and if youre planning on cooping, Wulfs Coop Mod. The server/connection system is ♥♥♥♥♥ and worthless for coop, the game is a terrible port in terms of optimization, but with the aforementioned mods its absolutely a must play.

After having played through this game, I can only recommend it if you take it at face value.

In terms of gameplay, this is just another shooter. Nothing special there.

The story however is worth a trip if you can get the game cheap. It takes the traditional "Hero of War" story and flips it on its head, forcing the player to make increasingly more difficult decisions as they go down the path of violence and chaos.

If you're looking for gamechanging mechanics, you're in the wrong place.
But if you're looking to become a hero, well, turn back now.

If you ask someone which final fantasy is there favorite, it's easy to see why 8 is almost never the choice.

tl;dr: FF8 falls flat on its face in so many ways that it's very difficult to justify paying for it. If you're looking at trying out one of the earlier final fantasies as a first time player, do not pick this one. Start with 7 or my preference, 9.

Spoilers below:
First off, mechanically, the game is a complete joke. You have to first understand the junctioning system which is so unnecessarily convoluted, and once you do understand it your characters are insanely overpowered and there is no challenge to the game. Typically I like the idea of "The better player you are, the more powerful you are." but this game does it poorly.

Then the story relies so heavily on deus ex machina plotlines that it's hard to take seriously(The hero being able to randomly pilot a giant boat/ship out of no where? The hero being able to pilot an alien ship that also just happened to be close enough to prevent them from dying of oxygen deprivation in space?), that coupled with uninteresting or bland characters just makes this an absolute shame when it comes to being labeled a final fantasy game.
The graphics and story scenes would be great at the time, but simply doesn't hold up.

I can't honestly recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played it and isn't looking for nostalgia. You're making a much better purchase with final fantasy 7 or 9, both of which offer a much greater story and much more interesting gameplay.
