A must-play for any fan of classic survival-horror games! Despite ditching many genre staples like inventory management and fixed cameras, it manages to capture the same survival gameplay with its looping "puzzle box" level design and shooting mechanics that reward planting your feet in place before shooting. Its an absolute steal at the $5 price tag for two hours of "all killer, no filler" fun!

Fun little game that's worth your 20 minutes it takes to play through. Runs perfect on the Deck. Looking forward to whatever this dev does next!

If you like side-scrolling action RPGs, Astlibra is a must-purchase. This game has the most fun single-plane 2D combat since Muramasa released almost 15 years ago; It's fast, fluid, aggressive, and has lots of options. The FFIX-style grind for skills from equipment gives a an addictive "gotta-collect-em-all" quality. The art is distinctive, with stand-out enemy designs. The soundtrack is sick. And the narrative is creative with plenty of twists and turns.

There's some rough edges with the UI design, progression systems, and character writing itself, but don't let that dissuade you. This is the most I've been hooked on a video game in years. If you think Astlibra looks vaguely interesting, you owe it to yourself to try out the demo, which contains BOTH a late-game enemy gauntlet to show off the combat AND the first 2 hours or so of the story, so you get a taste for both parts of the experience. Easy, easy recommendation.

Playing through "A Hat in Time" is like playing through a game from your childhood for the first time. Every second along my 12-hour joruney to 100% completion was an absolute joy. The platforming controls smooth and fluid, the camera is modern, the scenarios are imaginative, the characters are colorful, the writing is witty....honestly, I loved everything about every second of this masterpiece. If you love games like Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Banjo Kazooie, Paper Mario: TTYD, Psychonauts, etc, you owe it to yourself to play this game. This game is an absolute gem.
