I did not know what to expect when I bought the game. I am saying that because I tend to be sceptical about the games that are released nowadays.

That being said the game is good.
*I have binged finished the campaign and it took me about 18 hours at medium difficulty. Even at this level it was challenging. If you are not careful your troops will be wiped out.
*Both the maps and missions are varied, which helps you stay engaged.
*The sound effects overall are alright. The voice acting is alright as well, although it tend s to be limited in quantity and variations.
*There are a lot of units on both sides. They are varied and most of them are useful and can be used reliably.
*The cut scenes are basic, but they do provide nice explanations about the overall campaign evolution.

Now for the annoying things, which are a few unfortunately.
*The path finding for the units when you order an attack outside their current firing range is nonexistent. They just stand there doing nothing.
*The units tend to shake frequently as if they are undecided where they should stop. This happens mostly when units are clunked together, but not only.
*The unit icons tend to move with your screen sometimes instead of staying with your units. It is for a very short time, about a second, and than they disappear. This happens mostly when you are moving the camera away from your units.
*Since we are talking about units: each unit has abilities. And each of those abilities needs to be manually activated. There are no passive abilities. This ends up forcing you to micromanage, which is tiring when you have a huge army.
*The camera cannot be rotated, and the angle cannot be changed. There are missions where the current angle is annoying.
*Certain animations, like the drops pods landing and spewing or collecting troops or the plasma bugs spitting their plasma, are not synchronised properly.

I do not know if the game developers will fix these issues. While they are not game breaking, they do tend to be annoying when they happen.

The best way to describe them is: the game is not polished. Everything else is fine to good, but it still requires polish.
