Really fun, unique BR. I wasn't excited for this game but after putting in some time and learning it, I love it. I don't usually like BR's with small maps but the verticality, interior areas and character movement through the map makes it really special. Also choosing how I upgrade my character over the course of a match to adapt to the situation reminds me of The Cycle(The original BR version that is)
I enjoyed it enough I bought the battlepass (only ever bought a battlepass for a game two times before this and Halo Infinite's I will continue to regret.) I do not regret buying it for Bloodhunt. Compared to any other BP not only do I earn enough premium currency to obtain the next BP but also some extra to grab a cosmetic I want from the store.
This is not to say there aren't some balance issues between classes, and weapons. There are some tweaks there that need to be done, but some problems have already been fixed. If there was one main complaint I have it is that the tutorial does not give enough information. For instance it does not make it clear that melee weapons lifesteal while doing damage, this knowledge is a game changer. A player needs to know this sort of thing or they will feel frustrated and cheated not understanding why they lost a fight. Which leads me to my next topic.
People complaining about cheaters. Don't get me wrong cheaters should have their computers destroyed and never own one again. And while I have encountered at least 1 blatant cheater(solo player in squads wallhacking & aimbotting) in the game I think it is issue blown out of proportion. I think some of the complaints of cheating have more to do with not understanding game mechanics than actual cheaters. The lifesteal mechanic of melee made me think there were people cheating when really they were just healing from beating me to death while I tried to out damage them with a ranged weapon.
My final endorsement of the game is this: I have been done with the battlepass for a bit now, but I still want to play the game. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun. Those other 2 BPs there was the cost sunk fallacy of "I payed for it, now I better finish it" and then I never played it again.
