Recent reviews by Anime was a mistake

I cannot in good faith recommend this as the game released with an extremely predatory cash shop before even finishing the crafting feature. The game itself is an absolute blast to play and I was glad to see that cosmetics could be earned through in-game achievements or buying items through in-game currency. The cash shop does not mesh with the entire theme of the game either. You are supposed to be a criminal earning your keep and slowly unlocking proper gear as you level up and do the Penance achievements, but now any idiot with money can start the game looking like a fully decked out elite soldier. Of course, it's not a Fat Shark release without them completely dropping the ball somehow.


UPDATE: The game has improved with several updates. There are still many features that drag the experience down and the cancerous microtransactions won't be going away, but the game is still fun enough to forget and forgive most of these drawbacks. Fatshark is on a potential redemption arc.

UPDATE AGAIN: Nevermind, Fatshark never learns their lesson. The price increases for microtransactions just proves they are out of touch and have no idea what they are doing.

UPDATE AS OF DECEMBER 2023: Alright, alright, fine. I can recommend the game now. If it just got rid of its overpriced microstransaction it would be perfect.

Comfy transcendental schizophrenia simulator with fun and memorable characters. My only criticism is that it seems a bit short and ends very abruptly but the journey was very much worth it. One of those games you will wish you could play for the first time again.

Bought this, couldn't get a refund after only a few hours (anyone who has played these games knows you can't get very far into a campaign in just 2 hours) and feel scammed.

Maybe mods will fix it, because CA seems to be doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Pure Kino

A good game, just a few steps short of being great.

Crazy intense fun. Weapons and bosses could have used just a *little* bit more creativity and variation but it is still very much worth a playthrough.

You will be broken.
