Clunky UI, the tutorials do very little to help muddle your way through and are riddled with spelling and grammar errors. Does not feel like a finished game in the least

It's a sandbox, if you're creative you can build whatever you want. Raid the Workshop for goodies and then play just about anything. Works really well as a VTT for RPGs as well, though the visual quality goes hand-in-hand with how much your GM prepares every week.

Hitman meets Dishonored. They crammed a lot into 4 maps and 4 times of day. The story doesn't get in the way, but it's not entirely absent, either. Multiplayer is fun, but it feels really biased towards the player playing Cole (the story). In the 30ish hours it took me to beat the game, I only died to an invader once, and when invading other players' games, I loop Cole less than 20% of the time. Could be my more conservative playstyle, though.

Writing, characters, setting, variation in play... this is literally the best game I've ever played, and it still holds up so many years later.

I'm old enough to have played the original Half-Life when it came out, and it redefined what a FPS could be. This game reminds me of that experience so much- sure, on the surface it has a lot of visual similarities, but in terms of gameplay too. It takes existing mechanics and brings them together in a way that will surely set the bar for future games to aim for.

Reminded me less of the old LucasArts X-Wing series of games and more of Overwatch, but depending on what you're looking for, that may not be a bad thing. Surprisingly well balanced, but the factions still "feel" appropriately different. The story is fun and offers diverse missions. Only 2 multiplayer game modes across a handful of maps, but a week in they don't feel worn out- yet. I can see this building a strong fanbase with the right community building on the part of the devs.

Pros-
Feels authentically Star Wars
The sound design is very immersive
Dogfights are quick and satisfying
Fleet Battles (the only ranked mode) are longer and require a different approach

Cons-
Limited cosmetics (seriously, after a dozen or so levels you'll have bought the look you want for each faction)
8 ship types, 5(ish) maps, 2 game modes (plus the story) means it'll go stale unless they inject a bit more variety over time
Still buggy (specifically teaming up with friends can be frustrating, and my pilot cosmetics reset between matches)

The lack of a TIE Defender and B-wing seem like a big hole, but I'm sure we'll get a content boost at some point. Also an asymmetrical Death Star game mode would be a helluva lot of fun.

The most cinematic game I've played since Mass Effect, and steeped in the rich lore of the Star Wars Universe.

Did anyone else ever play Killer? It's that, but in a video game. No less cool.
