TLDR: The concept of the game is amazing. The execution is a burning dumpster fire. Hi-Rez have been added to my blacklist of game publishers I will not buy from in the future.

Every decision Hi-Rez have made over the past three years has been a terrible one. I can't remember the last time they added a fun and interesting god to this game. It was all downhill from Discordia - gods that you can't hit for obscure rules and reasoning. All while those gods have the most overpowered ultimate abilities which are single-handedly game controlling. You no longer need an Ares on your team to force everyone to take beads - just pick one of the top 15 meta gods and you'll ruin everyone's game on the other team.

Recently they removed Infinite Assault on Saturdays and added SMITE Night instead - which is just a random mode they pick out of a hat. Including some of the worst game modes to ever make this game unpopular - such as today's mode "Classic Conquest". Beyond it being a cringey copy and paste of League of Legends, it's completely unbalanced and quite frankly stupid to even still keep in the game.

Between all of the brain-dead decisions, a dying toxic player base - meanwhile banning my friends for being "too toxic"... I just can't be bothered anymore. Hi-Rez fail to acknowledge the core problem with the game - speed hackers - people warping away in fights. Yet you'll ban people who tell the cheaters to kill themselves. Mkay, whatever - enjoy your remaining player base while it lasts.

It's a joke. Don't bother playing it. It's too addictive and you will regret wasting your life learning a worthless game that won't even bring you joy. It just turns you into a toxic piece of ♥♥♥♥ like everyone else that plays this game.

Skins were up until recently pretty good. When the battle passes started Hi-Rez started selling their soul to the likes of Nickelodeon, Stranger Things, Transformers and Slipknot. Not only do these things have NOTHING to do with gods, but their skins make gods look the same. Go ahead, play against a whole team that have the Transformer skins and tell me you had fun.

SMITE is hanging on by it's life support while the last remaining try-hards in the game ruin it for all the new players. It's a failed game that isn't ever going anywhere. Without the influx of new players due to the 2019 epidemic, it would probably already be dead. I'm moving on, just like Hi-Rez abandon their other games - this one shall too be abandoned soon. I would advise to not give them any money.
