This is in effect Overwatch with a Marvel skin.

It cribs almost everything from Overwatch. The hero power configuration, the gameplay modes, the overall way that battles play. The only major difference is that this is 3rd person.

However, it does not feel as good as Overwatch.

It lacks unique character designs that make each fighter feel compelling. Which is a shame given how much they have to draw on. I get the feeling that they had to shoe-horn in lots of characters to make enough to be a full Hero game at launch, but their choices on how this play, and their balance in matches, feels mediocre at best.

And the game is SLLLOOOOWW. Movement feels like wading through molasses. Flying feels like swimming. Everything seems to move at around ½ the speed it ought to. This makes the fights very easy since the aim is simple when everyone is waddling around at a snail’s pace. And it limits interesting plays by restricting tactical movement.

The powers are ok. Some are fun. And some feel like a massive mis-step.

If you stripped away the Marvel skin, then what you would be left with is a B-grade Overwatch clone that superficially copies all of the older game’s content, while not quite understanding what made that game great.

Given that it is free to play, I'd say give it a try. It is enough fun to be worth a game or two. But when you take into account that Overwatch 2 is also free to play, it's hard to see why this would be the game of choice unless you love Marvel enough to mitigate the gameplay issues.

For the life of me I cannot fathom why anyone likes this game. What we have here is nothing more than a very bad puzzle game (place the light beams in the right place to open the barrier – that is it).

The puzzles are set in a weird world that seems to be a combination of some kind of fallen land and a VR environment. It has NOTHING to do with the game-play whatsoever.

If you really love standing on boxes and pointing light beams over and over and over and over again then go for it.
But Portal this is not.

Still the best MK in my view. And given you can pick it up for pennies it makes for a great game. The single player story is not quite as good as the first reboot game, but the fighting is top notch.

A very basic twin-stick shooter.

It feels more like someone's first game project than a proper commercial release.

Great fun as a co-op game with friends. So long as you have three other people to play along side, this is one of the best games of recent times.

A perfect remaster.

The original two games were major parts of my childhood. These remasters are fantastic. They've taken the full moveset from the latter games, but otherwise kept faithful to the original experience. It feels fantastic, looks beautiful, and is as much fun as it ever was.

This is a really good game.

It takes the core ideas from CK2 and digs much deeper into the RPG aspect. It's not the same game at all, which put me off to start with. But as I've played more I've really come to love CK3 in its own right.

There is a lot more depth to the characters in 3. The RPG side of the game is a far bigger element, and the sense of coherent narrative is really strong. I remember my characters much more often in this game. And the events that play out feel connected and make sense in context.

I am playing with all the current DLC, as well as some of the more popular flavour mods. I suspect that this is necessary for the game to be really fun, and you may find that the experience is a little bare bones without everything.

For me this has now replaced CK2 and will likely be my most played game for many years to come.

A wonderful and deep game of medieval politics and warfare. Probably the most interesting RPG type game I have ever played and one that I keep coming back to. The DLC price is high, but sobeit for a game of this quality.

Way better than the third game. While not as pretty the depth and narrative coherence here is just unbeatable.

A fantastic remake of this classic game.

The game itself is my all time favourite from the 8-bit era. Tight game play, and loads of interesting ideas that keep it fun. The remake is about as good as it gets. With beautiful visuals and music that stick to the feel and theme of the original while bringing it into the 21st century.

And it has the wonderful feature that with a tap of the R2 button you can switch between the original and updated version on the fly.

It really could not be better. Made with obvious love and care this is as good as it gets when it comes to remakes.
