Was fun concept mixing elements of ark with a bit of spore. Your typical survival with dependency on creatures but you kill them and take their blocks to power up your creature. Sadly the developer long since completely abandoned it so buying this would be a mistake.

Decent expansion overall. The visuals, controls, and stability are all improved upon. Didn't have any crashing or disconnects, game looks prettier, the controls feel more responsive. They attempted to balance some spells and somewhat succeeded in this. Rock armor doesn't last nearly as long, some weapon imbues can hit multiple times, etc. There's a fast cast system you can plug up to 4 magicks into for fast casting them (1-4 keys) which puts them on a short cooldown afterwards. You unlock different robes and colors for those robes as you play through.

Now for the criticisms. The game feels skimped upon. There's no way around it. The first form of this veterans will notice is how far and few between different weapons to pick up are. Staves are as well and no longer have unique functions with middle-click. Mostly just boost x element, reduce y element. Secondly is the significantly shorter story mode. It feels about half as long as the first game. This game was hyped up for its replayability but the only form of this is little modifiers you unlock to make enemies have more health, your spells do less damage, etc.

I can't speak for if the paid DLCs make this better though paid DLCs is no way to redeem a game which skimped on content. Developers never seem to understand that when they add content updates onto their games it attracts new purchases and makes people reinstall the game to see what changed which in turn generates more purchase momentum.

If you liked the first one and this is on sale it's worth picking up.

This game was tremendous, but is now dead. I've installed this a few times in the past years here and there and was never able to get into a game since the old days. Reason for this is the developers chose to abandon the PC version of this game going with console only, giving anybody playing on PC who spent money on their cash shop a big ♥♥♥♥ you. Glad I didn't.

I used to recommend this to people when it would go on sale. It was a solid polished game once.

That was before something went HORRIBLY WRONG. Online game crashes when changing regions and various other bugs make this just a hair under unplayable.

I unfortunately must give it 3 crying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of 10. If it didn't have bugs it would easily be a solid 8 or 9.
