Relaxing and very cool systems to play with. Pretty awesome to watch a planet transform from a barren rock into a verdant oasis right before your eyes. Hoping it gets multi-player and more building improvements later on, but as of right now also supports mods.

I will recommend it, but with a heavy caveat: The controls are absolutely horrendous. I hate how it forces the camera around instead of letting you control it, and the "quick time events" which are always too quick. I end up hitting the wrong button and then having a really frustrating time not being able to do what I was trying to do. The story, modeling, voice acting, and character development are all amazing, though.

Played on a free weekend, and I was surprised at how many things have improved over Fallout 4. I liked the new encumbrance system and how you can put your settlement anywhere and move it around. I might buy this on sale, but have to realize that being an online-only game it will eventually get the servers shut down like so many others. It's probably really good if you have friends you like to hang out on Discord with and play.

Single player:

This game is an absolute masterpiece of storytelling. As a person who deals with copious amounts of anxiety and regret, I think the portrayal of misremembering and re-living all those feelings of self-doubt and despair are spot on. If you're feeling these things, find yourself a community; you are worthy of happiness, regardless of what you have let others or yourself tell you.

So much pay to win. After a couple of days, you'll probably get like 10-15 minutes of gameplay before you can't do anything and have to quit to go play an actual game. Gameplay consists of:

• Collect resources.
  
• Train someone.
  
• Send two people on an expedition.
  
• Once a week you might be able to upgrade some armor.
  
• Log for the night.

The price per value on IAP is really high and everything is artificially "on sale"; some items are about $20.00 per equivalent day of playtime. If you want to pay to do chores and not get laid, just get married instead; it's actually less dissatisfying than this game.

Really tried several times over the years, but the control scheme is too clunky and non-intuitive; the forced target locking and combo system fail to let you do anything useful instead feeling natural and blocking is terribly implemented. It's just a chore of a game in general, even with all the crazy bugs.

I like the horror and mystery aspects of it. It's pretty difficult on single player, but still worth the experience if you haven't tried it yet.
