game built around butterfly effect/ black swan theory and while concept is fine and interesting on its own, execution is just tireing. as a player you are injected into middle of soap opera where you make a quick realization that only thing to do is running around a house with timebending hairdryer, rewatching hours of pointelss dialogues and making a cuckold from one of protagonist husband to save marriage. what a XXI century mess. First 10 minutes of game are probably most interesting.

similar to genesis noir, game is just a good excuse to introduce to you some smooth jazz and build a tribute towards lost one.

this title is like a joke:
"maybe not the best, but at least expensive"
mediocrity at its finest. I cant think of any particular thing this game excels on, maybe outside of boredom delivery.
Basically if you think that your life is without taste, play this game and you will reignite passion towards wiping your bottom or doing laundry. and remember, there is one more person that probably hates life more than you, its lector in this game.

(on second thought, humming-bird was cool though)

strong pi+1/10

if youre an asmr fetishist you will delighted, as main character likes to deliver whispery monologues. This is an arcade shooter, not a simulator, but it rox, dogfights are dynamic, quick and you can easly vomit if your brain handles only x & y axis. Story is acceptable, difficulty is fair - im average and was able to beat game on hard no problem - last boss fight is bs though. Graphics are more than fine, music fits, so all good in these departments. First 1-2 hours (depends on eagerness to exploration) will suck a bit before you change your ride.

What game lacks are good synergies between items/weapons you collect during story and side missions. In summary if you like pew pew in space this is a game for you!

i didnt know if i like pew pew in space before playing, but apparently i do!

very enjoyable experience, with good graphics, exploration and really no pressure made towards 100%. You can redo every single mission - in case you miss secondary objectine. but to 100% you need to explore all and do everything, like everything what is possible. From diffficulty point of view game is very approachable even on most difficult setting.

and music! kicks ass.

every fan of star trek will appreciate this title, because RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, you will be assimilated.

a lot of criticism in reviews is towards argument this is poor shooter. This game is not a shooter at all, and outside of one encounter there is no need to shoot if you prefer that way. Game excells on building really twisted experience. This is not a horror in traditional jump-scary way (i really appreciated this approach), rather dense and hard to understand world which would be soulless horror by itself.

well crafted game for such a small title, voiceover, wide variety of puzzles and a good hint in each lvl name to go through, a few challanging ones, graphically game is also appealing. overall good job. pitty that author slacks with adding achis he commited to put more than year ago.
works fine on steamdeck.

ascent has very interesting enjoyment curve, honestly i had most fun at very end of the DLC after finishing main game when you can upgrade hammer to lvl10 and decompose most of guys into pulp in one hit, at beginning game can frustrate (i played on highest difficulty) becasue there is not a good way to efficiently heal yourself, you need to conserve hp a lot. Also going from A to B is painful at beginning, as taxis are expensive, and entrace to metro stations is just hard to find sometimes (verticality i mentioned later), on top of this youre limited to one station per district.

a lot of ppl said that game is buggy, i had one crash and needed to quit one time to restart mission, that is all.
visually world is just 10/10, a lot of details, backgrounds are polished etc, great cyberpunk/dystopian/corpo experience, music is also enjoyable. on the other hand animatons are quite simple, faces during cutscenes are mainly static etc. what was annoying is verticality of world, especially when you need to find a way up/down without available markers, map should really have at least elevators highlighted. also you cannot put tracker on map on your own, youre limited to quest ones.

all in all ascent is shadowgrounds survivor/alien shooter on serious steroids with kickass graphics + lite rpg aspect and if you enjoy these kind of games you will be delighted. i enjoy so it was a pleasure to play, maybe more towards mid/endgame than at beginning though.

as a game its utterly boring experince with dull dialogues,
there are several quite cool tracks accessible from submarine deck, added videos are interesting and educative too, but if i would like to watch a video on this subject i would rather go on YT or TV. There was a great chance to incorporate these informations in interesting way during scientists disussions, but instead of youre forced to listen about family business and locator tags. And achis, well, 100% is easy but marking every single fish on each map? really? come on, where is wally was a different game.
in summary - cause and topic noble, execution quite sucked.

this is 2nd AC game i finished & maxed in my life - just after completing ac origins. main difference between these games is purpose - origins is for thick plot, odysssey for adventure - and boy what an adventue it was. Game is humongous and has even more activites than origins. Both titles hold great level of details; here boars can wreck you good, chants on ship are superb (check male/female!), meeting historical greek characters and gods and exploring their motivations was interesting to say the least.

What i didnt like once again was a level of repetitiveness. This time tombs felt dull and ctrv made. your horse is dumbass and you will feel frustation caused by both random riding speed, time to wait for him and wierd 180 turns after hitting stones/stairs and other obstacles. Also THE numbers, yeah, dmg values are absurd, especially if you explore this title just after origins, turn them off in hud menu, i did it quite fast and gameplay only benefited from this decision.

Once again im aware of rant on uplay/ubisoft connect, (this time i had a few sync issues; 3 or 4 for 210+ hours of gameplay) but other than that it was fine and worked smoothly. As a gamer appreciating quality titles i can assure you if you decide to skip ac odyssey only just because of launcher, you will deprive yourself a chance of not exploring such a vast and polished world and memorable experience.

I highly recommend to invest in gold edition as DLCs were great - i enjoyed both - last blade for twist at the very end and atlantis for underworld exploration. dont waste your money for boosters, skins etc, game offers plenty of content by itself. Do not rush, enjoy views and experience, embrace the fact that this is not a game for one weekend, rather 1-2 months of adventure if played daily. And dont worry, at the end you will have plenty of crafting mats, skill points, dmg and all other goodies not accessible at start.

once again - ubi go and add achis to other titles FFS! amount of reviews for origins/odyssey vs valhalla should really show you what sales potential youre wasting.
