This game is great if you enjoy automation games. This game is perfect if your favorite part of playing those games is just designing factories.

While there is still an unlock system to get different machines, the progression is easy going and is mostly in place to not overwhelm newer players to the genre. That aside, Shapez 2 allows you to build to your hearts content. No enemies, no time limits, unlimited resources; just build factories and create the required shapes to progress. The soundtrack is great and the visuals are satisfying, with good animations and lots of vibrant colors. Watching your ever growing torrent of shapes entering the vortex is it's own unique reward to witness.

This is a great game to kick back and relax to. Not to say this game isn't difficult, by any means. Some of the later shapes become much more complicated to produce, much less at scale, and there's even a hexagon mode if you really want to be put to the test. While the gameplay is low stakes, it'll still make you think.
