The game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rocks but they did Mick Gordon dirty and while David Levy is great they should have done what was promised to Mick and to the fans with the OST.

I've always had a touch and go relationship with Immersive Sims or whatever you really wanna call Deus Ex as a franchise. Sometimes they are great in that your choices do truly actually matter and its not merely picking your preferred flavor of ice cream, sometimes they are horrid and no matter what you do the same results occur at the end except the flags are red instead of blue or whatever.

With this in mind, I will say that Deus Ex Mankind Divided is a phenomenal immersive sim but possibly a bad deus ex game

Spoilers Ahead, you've been warned.

I'm not gonna waste time going over every little detail here or there, you can play the game for that. What I do want to talk about is the third visit to prague, the lead up to and the final level itself.

Prague
The entire game Prague is this fun safe haven where aside from cops being cops and the occasional shootout with the local gang things are pretty tame. This third visit however, martial law, was something I don't see often in games. I appreciate the very sudden tonal and gameplay shift and I further appreciate that, at least in theory, you can play this section any way. You can be sneaky, you can go all out, you can do both, navigate through sewers, whatever. Praise for that

Last Level and Lead in
The last mission was great, it felt like a true test of your skills as the player and Adam's abilities as the character. You had to incorporate everything you had put together to that point and it felt great. Toward the end you are given the usual "do this or this, you lack time for both" choice and so I picked one but here is the thing that fascinated me. Because I did most of the side quests I had gained assets that allowed me to finish the first objective so quickly I was able to do the second, and then furthermore because I had also done the same thing for option 2 I was able to finish both routes with the 'best ending' but had I not done the other content and made the choices I made I simply would not have had access. That is a good immersive sim bit, where the choices do in fact matter not just mechanically (Like being stealthy means you have more bullets) but in the story as well.

That said as a Deus Ex game this is the first one where we don't DRASTICALLY alter society at the end and that is kinda weird.

Early Access Review
I played a lot of warband. Most of it was in cRPG so it sadly was not recorded on steam but even without that like a lot lot of warband. I had really high hopes for this game and when I saw it hitting EA I was optimistic but understanding that there would issues. Here we are 7 months so lets talk about the game.

Single player has gotten a lot of focus and love and that is all well and good. Lots of new stuff that works well now and if you are looking for the singleplayer experience from warband but better congrats this is it.

Multiplayer is dead, maybe it'll come back with the official release but I doubt it

CRPG is back and fantastic. I highly recommend for that and that alone, I look forward to it becoming even better as time drags on. 10/10

Lets first start with the obvious issues: Imperator has had a rough start to be sure. It's a relatively new time period for paradox as far as I know, completely new system that was made from the gound up and with these factors it's understandable that the launch was rocky and the game was sort of a mess. That said, if 1.1 and 1.2 are any indication of the future, I feel as though paradox will make things right through a series of updates like Cicero to make the game more functional. Even now there have been great strides since launch and I'd say that we're easily on par with eu4, and ck2 at launch. (Didn't much care for HoI at launch.) And only going up from here Anyway, thanks for coming to my ted talk, here's my review:

Pros: Its BCE, you've got tribes, you've got migration, you've got all sorts of stuff and its great to see such diversity of play styles.
Probably some of the more in depth army management in Paradox, choosing formation types, more specific compositions, generals who wile not as detailed as CK, are still interesting characters on and off the battle field.
A neat fusion of character play like ck, nation building like EU, and pop management like Vicki.
Fairly enjoyable management from every level of the empire, province to government, person to populace.

Cons: It's a bit scarce in the national decisions way, the internal politicking could be a bit stronger but is solid overall.
Trade seems a bit off at times.
Doesn't go all the way to like 700 AD so I can save convert into ck

Other than that, only complaint is I'd love to see China added.

After my previous review being more of a angry ♥♥♥♥ post and then being proven wrong, I have decided to remove it and write a real review.

Life is Feudal: Your Own is not a good game.

Pros to LiF: YO over other games

-Decent Graphics
-World playing ability is better than say Rust
-Has probably the best combat out of any sort of survival rpg some such game.
-Has better crafting than some games in the same genre.
-Hilarious(ly bad) voice acting
-Except that part where Sean Bean was the voice actor.

Cons

-Some crafting skills are somewhat lackluster, with a simple menu and a bar not unlike wow, whilst others are mind boggling over complicated like alchemy which requires you to discover what every ingredient does by using it, varies what each does by player so you cant share knowledge, and makes the reagents hard to find unless you turn off grass.
-On most servers, skill multipliers make you a "master smith" or what have you in a matter of days, and frankly thats not super fulfilling.
-Has the same allure as Rust (15 year olds try out gun boat/big stick diplomacy)
-The narrative makes very little sense.
-Has worse combat than say warband but tries so hard to have direction combat
-Has worse world play and building stuff potential than Wurm, but sort of not really half assedly tries to be like that too.
-Sean Bean didn't die

Supposedly the first two features in the cons section will be rectified in the mmo by adding crafting minigames or some such, along with skill multipliers being set to "1", but this isn't the mmo now is it?

This game is insanely grindy but has that link into your seratonin release valve that only turns on when you plan something big or hard and finish it and then you feel really good for like a week.

8/10
