It's a good game if you're buying it for the singleplayer experience. However multiplayer matches are hard to come by. Not to mention still broken after 3 years. Every time I close the game, my multiplayer progress resets. I lose my levels, equipment, salvage & loadout/character selections.

If you don't care about passing on a few achievements & possibly not playing any of the multiplayer, buy it. Otherwise, you've been warned.

Side Note - Don't bother with any of the multiplayer DLC. Due to the low player count, you will find yourself disabling it all just to find matches. Everyone has the base game, but not everyone has the DLC. You are essentially excluding yourself from the already limited population. Unless you have 3 or more friends that all want to go deep into TR's multiplayer, you're just wasting your money.

Impressive little point & click. Bik has a great story, highly likable characters & a hell of a lot of charm. Sure at 1st glance it looks a little ugly. But it quickly becomes apparent the look was intentional. The grainy amateur looking asthetic actually turns out to be quite beautiful. The puzzles posed a little bit of a challenge. Although there are some sequences that can be a little annoyingly repetitious, until you figure it out.

Overall Bik left me wanting more. I hope to see more of this in the future. This is well worth the $1.19 I paid for it, but at $5.99 it may be a little steep. I'd say grab it fast if it's $4.00 or less.

Would be one of those "Maybe" recommendations, but Steam still hasn't added this option.

I'd recommend it only for these reasons:
1) IT IS a Half Life game & continues an amazing series.
2) If you find it on sale

The reason I lothe this game:
1) Some achievements are still bugged, many years after release.
2) The bug that launches you a mile into the air. Ya know, whenever the game just feels like it.
3) That effing gnome.

The Ys series is one of the longest running franchises around. As far as RPGs go, there isn't really another series to compare with this. Ys Book I & II was one of (if not the 1st) action RPGs. And even today, there aren't many other games that do it better. Even though Ys Origin was released many years after I & II, Origin stays true to what make an Ys game, an Ys game. You can always expect brutal boss battles, a compelling story, an absolutely amazing soundtack, enjoyable characters, beautiful visuals, & unforgiving gameplay.

I fell in love with this series back in the late 80's on my TGCD. I just about crapped my pants when I heard Ark of Napishtim was being released on PS2 & made it an immediate purchase. Now years later finding a treasure trove of Ys games on Steam... how am I supposed to resist?

The Ys series may not get the recognition of the Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest franchises(at least not in the US), but it ought to. Being the 1st game in the Ys series(timeline wise), Origin is a great way to be introduced to one of the best RPGs around. I highly recommend it.

I was getting tired of playing with myself in the real world. Now I can do it in this virtual one.

Toren is the perfect reason for Steam to add a maybe option to recommendations. This is not a bad game by any means, but in the same vein, it's not a great game.

It's obvious that Toren takes a lot of queues from Ico, but ends up missing the mark by a good stretch.

Pros:
Toren is short - About 2 hours to complete.
Visuals & audio are well done.
Cards & achievements

Cons:
The story does keep you somewhat involved, but mainly because it's a bit confusing.
Some of the platforming can be a little sloppy at times.
Price - $9.99 is a bit much to ask

Pros:
-Free & somewhat enjoyable.
-The game functions well. I didn't experience any crashing in the 1.4 hours I played.
-A lot of interesting questions, like: "There is a 4000 year old clay tablet which is a customer's complaint wanting a refund." Who knew No Man's Sky was around 4,000 years ago?
-Easy achievements... If you're willing to grind for them, that is.

Cons:
-Repetition. This can be forgiven due to "True or False" being free. I also assume it's not intended for playing at the length I played.
