It's lovely. Like a head massage. The whole ambiance. Reminds me of Deserts of Kharak, which you should pick up as its a fantastic game. Support these guys. There is not many others doing these type of games with this level of craftsmanship and love.

I am biased as I am an Arkane fan. Deathloop combines elements of many of its titles. The strategic use of turrets from Prey, lots of stealth elements from dishonoured. Here is how it improves on those titles. Dishonoured punished you for violence. None of that here. No quick saves so you need to react when compromised during stealth. Dishonoured did not allow you to repeat a level having learned more about it, without losing resources. With Deathloop you can repeat all you want gathering resources as you go. Its excellent. If you loved the Arkane titles, this is a love letter to the fans

Very enjoyable and relaxing game. The art style is simplistic and effective. Lots of scope for improvement, but well worth the price. Single player is fun, it is the only way I intend to play it, but I don't expect to win anytime soon. Working out the various systems will keep me happy. It is what you imagined a CC game would be in the future when you were playing the original.

Dreadful. It can take a half an hour to get from accepting a mission to getting to the system, landing, scarab to within a few KM, walk to the target, get snotted by a bullet-sponge while your rubber gun fires joke pellets. Failed mission, start all over again.
Needs another year in development. Avoid.

I am playing this with an xbox controller on a mid range pc. Its a much better experience than the original IL2. You can play this casually and have lots of fun, so don't be put off. A beautiful game. I bought all the campaigns after trying out the first. Just purchase intelligently.

Early Access Review
When I bought this first, I could not play it for another 15 hours. Server problems. Not a good start. When I did get in I started with the crusader class, and to be honest I was not that impressed. I started again with an assasin/sniper build. In the Dawn Of War 2 SP games I loved the scout class. Well, playing inquisitor with the assasin/sniper build felt like the scout class got its own game. It is great fun. Looking forward to the full release.

Played first 2 missions and went off track for a bit of exploring.
Similar titles I own: Wildlands, Sniper Elite 4, Dying Light.
I really dont know what all the negativity is about.
No glitches or crashes or slowdown on a 1060 with a fairly old CPU.

The cutscenes are not great, but we are not here for cutscenes are we?
The mechanics are sound, the actual local is interesting, serene.
For those who found Far Cry 4 too noisy and distracting.
Good hunting vibe with a real sense of the wilderness, just wind and weather sounds etc.
There is a taste of Stalker:Chernobyl in the enviroment, which is good thing. A bit of a change from the usual.
Animations for scavenging, climbing etc are fine.

I enjoyed playing through dying light, scavenging and searching the map, avoiding the main missions till I had built up skills and resources. Looks like I can enjoy a similar playstyle here.

I really disliked Sniper GW 1 & 2. Don't consider them when deciding a purchase.
I am really happy with this so far and would recommend it to those who like to snipe and salvage.

Ok well.. I was disappointed to begin with. The PVP is laggy as hell, and playing as Space Marine it was just near instant death ad nauseaum.
However.. the COOP mode.. great fun. Just what I wanted. Brisk and satisfying. I would recommend to all 40k fans. It looks like the game might actually have a chance. I bought DeathWing but Im not playing it at the moment as Im too busy with this.

In a word... Janky! Controls dont feel right. Sounds flat. Explosions are crap. Renegade Ops looks 10 years ahead of this. This is more like something you would put together yourself while messing about with unity. Really surprised wargaming.net have associated themselves with this.

I have only played through the tutorial and first level so far, so these are very early impressions. DoK has a beautiful look and feel to it. The artwork is spot on. One for the SCI-FI heads amongst us. Perhaps the mechanics and AI are not as refined as other RTS titles, but this definitely feels different, in a good way. This is the game I will use to introduce my kid to the RTS genre. I am happy with my purchase.
