Knights of the Old Republic and Alien Isolation. Two of my favorite ever games, from two very different eras!

I imagine it will be like the European colonisation of America from east to west, with people very gradually exploring, trading and building space stations further and further out from Sol. So it will be entirely possible to discover something like a huge diamond deposit on a planet somewhere remote and just keep it to yourself.

There are literally billions of stars actually programmed in the game, with resources generated at random. Because it is so large, it will be impossible to actually cross the game's galaxy in our lifetimes, but what you can do is actually name stars and planets you discover yourself - and because it is an MMO of sorts, everyone sees your named places. Genius.

Even more than that, I know that Richard "Im Lord British and a weirdo" Garriot is making a new RPG and the guy behind Ultima Underworld has also announced a modern sequal/reimagining. Speaking of remakes and such, how good does Elite Dangerous look!!!
