So far, so good. I've played up through the first time you meet a deathclaw. Also, hint, molerats like to burrow up from underneath you. Compared to FO:NV which was all desert tones except Red Rock and Jakobstown, FO4 has a wider range of colors and scenery even in the first intro area.

No stability issues except once I got stuck in a chair while reading a terminal and had to reload. Graphics are great overall (except people which are kinda meh compared with DA:I or TW3), I'm seeing stable 60Hz FPS with all settings maxed on a nv 970 and multisample AA and transparancy AA enabled in nv control panel.

Think of an indy very of Freelancer. Add some stations inspired by Egosoft's X-Universe (the solar power plants, especially) and maybe a touch of Space Rangers 2 in terms of the map/territory and in terms of being able to install a mod upon your ship equipment.

Definitely worth picking up with the current sale.

Note that the early versions of the game had some balance issues and the turn-based combat wasn't as complicated and interesting as it has evolved into with v2, so the mixed reviews from early on are fair, but recent reviews are much more positive.

Anyway, absolutely get this together with the Betrayed Hope DLC, which complements the original version of the game perfectly by letting you switch from being nice (trying to persuade/coerce/threaten the races into a unified federation) to being pure evil (aka Dalek-style exterminate everyone left alive).

Betrayed Hope also seems to double the number of background songs playing for each of the planets, and the music is outstanding. Beyond that, the gameplay and AI diplomacy on the system map is as finely crafted as anything else I can think of.

Turn-based combat is much more fluid in practice than it sounds like, and it can often be a spectacular visual riot of shots blasting in assorted patterns, and being able to wisely choose a path and speed of each segment of movement makes a big difference in how much damage you take.

It's not called DK3, but it plays very much like what I'd like a DK3 to be-- rather than some pay-to-win mobile thing-- and there's that voice again, congratulating you on your evil deeds and chiding you for not killing the forces of good rapidly enough. Welcome back, Keeper...I mean Underlord.

Anyway, I've played thru level 6 under 1.1.6 without any significant issues. The only thing I noticed offhand was that there is a pretty major pause at the start of some levels before the voice intro starts up. Speaking of pauses, I want the 'Pause' key or 'P' or something to do a pause-- the esc menu sort of works, but you can't scroll with the esc menu active.

Graphics quality with all the shiny enabled is looking pretty fine, and the performance seems solid-- no problems holding a steady 60FPS at 2560x1440 @ 60Hz resolution. Wish I could zoom out a little more, though, or perhaps I'd like the UI elements around the edge of the screen to be a little smaller and not take up as much room.

Fun. Simple. Timing and rhythm is all. Don't think. Do.
"Do" is two buttons: strike left and strike right.

As Jack Burton always says, it's all in the reflexes.
Very fun. Very simple. Don't think: just play.

Wow. This needs to have the voice from Dungeon Keeper praising your evil deeds as you evolve your own special brand of plague. Especially that message when your plague has infected every human on the planet. Or when you get mocked in a very entertaining fashion if your disease fizzles out.

Normal difficulty is a worthy challege.

And yeah, Greenland in particular seems to be a haven of health nuts. Being patent and waiting for shipping seems to work given enough time, but the timing is tricky.

This is a good sequel to a great game. In fact, some of the little mechanics changes like the boost tower are great improvements to gameplay, but as others have said, the A.I. conversations are hit-and-miss.

Doesn't matter-- still worth getting.

Wow-- get this. Simple premise: you've got a ship which you place cargo, engines, guns, and support modules like power generators and shields on. You need to go fast enough-- building enough engines during the run-- to make a deadline, or go even faster to get bonuses.

You don't actually navigate the ship, the flight plan is pre-set. Don't worry, though, there'll be plenty else to do.

Asteroid swarms, waves of enemy fighters, ships and so forth get in your way and/or try to blow you up. Destroying them instead gives 'hexnuts' which is the resource used to build more stuff on your ship. You need to also keep building and repairing your guns/missiles/etc, and readjusting their facing to be prepared for the next waves. There are powerups available for your modules, and using them with the right timing can make a huge difference. You almost certainly want to also build some shields at least around the bridge, the cargo, and the engines.

But then, you almost certainly wanted to build guns facing in all directions as quickly as possible. And power gens and shields next to them also. And another engine...decisions, decisions....

Survive the run with ship and cargo intact, and you get paid, which you can use to improve the tech available on the next run. New missions become available, although you can and should repeat existing missions to be able to afford better tech.

9/10. Lost gem: namely, Dungeon Keeper in SPAAACE! (How did I miss this the 1st time around??)

There's ten single-player missions, each pretty distinctive and nice learning curve; also sandbox mode and there's user-contributed missions floating around as well. The missions are interesting enough to replay a few times around.

The biodeck is awesome given some time. Big tip for litter cleanup: right-click a scuzzer or two, drag the cleanup icon to the top so they prioritize doing that more.

Epic. Quirky view controls. A brillant modern compromise that isn't as deep as the original X-Com, but you don't get to spend forever trying to find the last alien while moving 12 dudes around either.

The cutscene videos of the alien autopsies/interogations/etc add a lot to the flavor and story. Ship-to-ship is kinda weak, I never got to build more than one advanced interceptor due to low cash.
