Still seems like it has bugs based on difficulty level and map sizing. Playing normal and large map with friends and consistently faced 30k strength circles adjacent to us making it unwinnable even with unlimited Forestry etc enabled.

The UI needs work. Why is there a "Basic" and "Advanced" tab with a basic building (basic tower and forestry) in the advanced tabs? The game should instead change to "Buildings" and "Units" with the third tab being the only one that makes any sense.

Fun concept for sure, but has more than its shortcomings.

Hey Sorrora, thank you for the review! I'll look into the difficulty on normal. The difficutly is increased by number of players in Co-Op, you'll probably have to combine armies of all players to take down one of the bordering circles at start. The more players there are, the higher their strength will be, otherwise it would be easy to steamroll by combining 4 armies.

The basic and advanced menus are based on what a player needs when they start playing CE. They can play quite fine with everything in the basic tabs. Once they are familiar with that, there are much more diversity in advanced. This is to keep it simple at start. It's not intended to be divided by complexity of each building/unit category, e.g. basic tower in basic, advanced tower in advanced. That was not intended. Playing has also suggested that it's better to have similar things grouped together, e.g all towers in one tab. So if you have to choose which tower to use, they are in same spot, don't have to switch tabs to compare etc. But I get your suggestion as well.

Thanks again and stay tuned for updates, I'll look into the 30k-difficulty in coop thing!

Edit on 5 May 2020: The above mentioned difficulty glitch was fixed with today's update! Thanks to everyone who reported it and provided details, you're awesome and part of making the game better!

Hey Sorrora! Today's update fixed the co-op difficulty glitch you've mentioned in the review.

@Beaver The main additions is that we've approximately doubled the amount of units/buildings/technologies/biomes compared to the first one + dlc and added multiplayer pvp and co-op. And a bunch of quality of life features. In case you're not interested in multiplayer, all the new stuff is available in single player as well, like new game modes etc.

I agree on Sorroras opinion on the UI.
Its....well not only is it not pretty and looking like a placeholder feature, its also not sorted well and buggy.
Upgrades i bought arent actualized. I have to do another upgrade so the first one applies.
Having it sorted between expanded and basic is not a good idea the way it is now.
I consider a lot of the things in the expanded tab as basic structures.

I also dont get the "its better for newcomers this way". The game isnt that complicated, in fact, for a strategy game its totally lightweight as there are no buildings to create to train certain units and no need to upgrade structures. To give a few examples.
Also the market doesnt allow to purchase any resource with gold.
I started to play the game, went into the first singleplayer match and started playing and instantly got how the units work. No need to separate them. Make it "units" and "buildings".

seems exactly the same as the first game... for the price, and since I already own the first one plus DLC, why would I buy this?
