If you like slow-paced 4x and want some fun and not looking for a highly balanced e-sport like game, this one is for you.

con's:
- there are still major bugs present but they are passable if you are not into a very serious game
- not recommend for competitive multiplayer because of forementioned bugs and highly unbalanced mechanics
- stay away from custom factions, that feature is completly broken atm

pro's
- I've found no fundamental flaws so far in the game design (only implementation problems)
- automated colony development seems to work decent (should you want less micromanagment)
- awesome ui
- nice music
- different races (8 in total) indeed offers different game experience
- the developers seems to be very highly skilled (and also dedicated atm), the patches delivered fast and indeed improve the game each time.

I have high hopes that endless space 2 will reach to great heights before being abandoned by the publisher/developer.
Now I have to alt-tab back for "just one more turn"...

on the negative side:
- It is a bit hard to learn if you are not familiar with hearts of iron series of games. it has some kind of tutorial, but that is nowhere enough to understand all the features.
- no fancy graphics [well, you may even say no graphics at all, as you will turn out the animated sprites after a fer hours of gameplay and use counters to represent units/armies as they are much more informative at a glance.
- a game can take very long from start to finish

But if you don't mind a long learning curve, and have a lot of time this is easily one of the best strategy games you can find.

It is a big improvement over HoI2 in all areas. If you liked HoI2 you will love this.
