I played the heck out of Wasteland, had a love / hate relationship with it. Never easy. Never forgiving. Twenty five (okay, twenty six) years later, Wasteland 2 arrived. It too has a love / hate relationship with me. Never easy. Never forgiving. Even more player 'decisions' played out as to how the game reveals itself.
And now, Wasteland 3.
Story, game-play, zero forgiveness, and every major choice in the game effects what happens next. It's what we old farts have been waiting for. A continuation of what we started in 1988, a Wasteland game to kick our buts.

When it first came out, it was big. Lonely, but big. Then, we got updates. Then we got more updates. Then we got BIG updates. Yeah, it gets better, and it's hella fun with friends.

Update late November 2021:
It has been a long run, and NMS just keeps getting better, and bigger. Some updates I'm not much into, but ... over all, it is getting even better looking.

Update mid November 2022:
Is this even the same game? Massive updates. This last update has cause some re-thinking (not enough to restart a new toon). much easier to add / remove tech for buildouts. Less OP here and there. Visually, has gotten even better looking.

A year later, 2023:
Massive updates all year long. Continual re-thinking of the game. Don't agree with 100% of the updates / addtions, but there are folks that do, and that's a good thing. Seven years in and still the game is updated, improved, and grows. Still massive af ....

In quick review, you just keep coming back, and it keeps gettin better (and a bit silly at times). Making it all worth playing. It is a time investment if you want it to be. Play it, and take it as serious as you feel you need to.

It's been around for a long time. It's still very playable and a great nod to the game the started the genre, Wasteland. Not the same games, both very playable, and never the same.

Okay... the trailer doesn't do it justice. It's different, it's not what you think, but it is totally what you think it is. If that makes any sense. Worth the investment -- and for $12 during the holiday sale?
