Playing Helldivers 2 made me the man I am today.

If you can get the game on sale for $5, there is some fun to be had in the portal mode, but my God is this a hilariously bad game. You can't customize your character unless you want to pay some steep prices in the microtransactions shop, so enjoy playing as a Getty image stock actor diversity hire soldier of the future.

Just play portal mode and enjoy the memories, the main game is garbage.

Walk to a doorway in your house, open the door slowly and peek through, then close your eyes and say "I'm dead." There you go, that's the game.

Where's the OCEANS? Pretty good NASA simulator, otherwise.

Desperately needs an undo button once per game for the inevitable wrong discard...

The game has a fun core gameplay loop that is engaging but progression is nonexistent. I'm nearly 12 hours into the game and I'm still doing the exact same stuff I was when I first started.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or there are story cues I'm not triggering, or maybe I'm expecting more than what there appears to be? The devs seem to be adding a lot of stuff, but nothing is accessible to do or experience. The XP gain is excruciatingly slow, maybe this needs to be addressed? There seems to be a hotel / innkeeping aspect of the game that I have no idea how to do or access and I lost interest in the game before figuring it out.

There is something *off* here that I can't quite nail down. The controls or piece placement has a delay, a lag, a latency, or some other subtle but noticeable phenomena that makes the game less enjoyable to play than other recent Tetris entries (such as Tetris 99), which didn't have this problem. I'm willing to accept that maybe the issue is me, seeing since the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, but I've been playing Tetris for nearly 2 decades and I just can't get used to this game.

As for the rest of the game, it feels like if Michael Bay made a videogame. The visual effects are so over the top and distracting that enjoying the actual game of Tetris is more difficult than it has ever been. The multiplayer, which I was looking forward to, is completely dead and I'm not certain anyone is playing this in 2023 which struck me as odd because it is the most recent major Tetris release.

I got the game on sale for $20 and I thought that was too steep. I'd probably say $7-$10 would be a buy if you're looking for a sensory overload Tetris game with a hilariously short one hour long single player "campaign".

Sell all your starting trucks and by the ANK MK38 as soon as you can. This will save you a ton of frustration in the early hours of the game.

The game was on "sale" for $35 and for that kind of money, I expect a polished and close to finished gaming experience. What I got was a buggy, un-optimized, technical mess of a game that ran like a slide-show and then hard-locked my PC, something I haven't experienced in quite some time. I mean I just couldn't believe how poorly the game performed on my otherwise decent mid-ranged gaming PC. Then I was banned instantly from a server for using a bad word in a private squad chat. Sigh. Just know what you're going to be getting yourself in to.
