If you want to enjoy this game, do not rush it. There is no real end-game content, and no real rewards system in place that makes your resources and efforts feel worthwhile. I had a blast with this for the first couple of weeks, but once you have everything for your build, there's not much else to do. The game is trying to be too much at once, and not really shining in any specific way. I would not be surprised if NetEase tries to take this product and force P2W, as the systems in place are already begging for your money.

Early Access Review
40+ hours of content for this early access release, and has provided plenty of entertainment even for a solo player. Most areas feel complete, but near the end of the content available, lack of polish and optimization does become quite noticeable, but is entirely understandable when taking the size of the world and detail into consideration overall. It's surprisingly immersive and the art style works well with the environment and atmosphere, too. While there (arguably) is no current end-game content implemented, there are still skills that can be leveled up for your character for any of those looking to min/max and plenty of things that are fairly easy to miss for completionists. This has potential to be an excellent title once out of early access.

Random freezing/crashing on a 3080 FTW3 + Ryzen 7 3700x, and no real solution after 11 hours of gameplay. DX12 would crash within an hour of gameplay, where DX11 would crash a littler later. Poor side-quest implementation that does not notify you that you need to progress the main questline in order to access other areas to complete quests you've accepted. The isometric angle will end up being your worst enemy, especially during other fixed camera angles that make it difficult to hit targets if playing with M+Kb. Zero clue how this game had such high ratings beforehand, but I will not be finishing it, as it is just not worth the time. Genuinely regret this purchase.

Early Access Review
This "game" claims to have mechanics years ahead of AAA titles, yet provides no such thing. I get that it's a single developer, and it's dirt cheap, but this has been in early access for over 10 YEARS and is still barely a shell of a game. The level design is mediocre and stale, the player and weapon animations are non-existent, the so-called "mechanics" are lackluster, and there isn't really anything worth coming back to once you've messed around with it. There is absolutely nothing that this game offers to make it worth purchasing, even at its low price.

Edit: Apparently, Dan believes that I was a dev for his work, when I was only helping with very minor things that he ended up not even using (wasting everyone's time), and at no cost. In no way was I ever a former developer for this project. I have no problem with him not using anything I helped with, as I would not want my reputation tied to this trash anyway. Dan, if this is what you have to show after 10 years, just release it for free; it's not even worth a dollar. My points still stand true, regardless if you think this is a "revenge" review. If you treated people better in your past instead of shoving ♥♥♥♥♥♥ political views towards others, maybe your project would be in a better spot, because you clearly don't know what you're doing.

For a "Metroidvania" game, this is more frustrating than it is fun or rewarding. It's loaded with artificial difficulty and has a lack of any real improvements of quality-of-life features for its genre outside of the few upgrades available. The majority of the game ends up eating your time with a ridiculous amount of backtracking when you're not on your x attempt for a boss. A large handful of charms are downright terrible and offer very little benefit, even with some synergies for your builds. I genuinely wanted to like this game, as I've been a fan of this genre for years, but this one is entirely over-hyped. This game could have been much, much better if it weren't for some of the arbitrary decisions from the developers that created the game on a fine line between fun and frustrating, in which the fun seemed to be a rare occasion up until the very end. Either get this when it's dirt cheap through a sale, or play something else that's far more rewarding and enjoyable like Symphony of the Night, Axiom Verge, La-Mulana, or even Dead Cells (light Metroidvania elements).

Some may really enjoy this, but there are far better games of this genre out there that knock this title into the dirt.

Quite boring and doesn't bring the charm that the previous titles have in this series and genre.

This game is hanging on by a thread. One of the best lag simulators I've ever played.
