This game took over my life for quite a while about a year ago. This game lets you build warships from a few specific eras, pretty much the golden age of dreadnoughts and battleships. So how much freedom does it give you in building your ships? I think this is one part about this game I really appreciate, so you don't get 100% complete freedom to build whatever you want, you have a hull you pick and there are mostly realistic constraints put on you for things like weight and engine power, you are also constrained by the hull's shape itself. Why do I like being constrained? Well it takes less time for me to build a ship compared to something like From The Depths(which I absolutely love as well), the main reason I prefer this than something with more freedom is I just don't have the time to build an entire warship piece by piece, it's more accessible this way and still gives me plenty enough freedom that I can do all kinds of fun things. This game has a fun strategic campaign as well, much like FtD but with a historical framework & setting, it's complex in different ways too, managing your funds and all the fun events that can happen, balancing your fleet size, oh and not to mention a whole ass tech tree. For me the tech tree gives me Hearts of Iron vibes where you get bonuses or minuses based on what year you are researching a tech, if it's before it was historical developed then it's more expensive to research and vice versa, keeps everyone in a similar bubble tech-wise. It does make it harder to sprint ahead in tech but not impossible, especially if you play as a nation with heaps of disposable income. The game is still very much being developed and the devs are very active, they've done a great job improving this game over the last year or so and it I'll likely be diving in again soon. I will mention of all the parts of this game, the strategic campaign is probably the roughest part, which is totally fine for me, I'm not here to get a deep and complex 4X experience, the designing, testing, learning, improving loop is really what I love especially when you come up with an effective design.

All of that is a great deal of fun but the part I love the most is, of course, the battles themselves, which lean heavily towards realism(usually lol), it's always very satisfying to win by superior tactics but it's hard to beat the dopamine rush of slapping an enemy ship right in the ammo stores, see how far you can send a turret!. The ships on your side can be controlled by the AI for the most part however you can control where the ships go, in what formation, what shells to use, what speed, etc., it can help when controlling large formations or to put the small ships on AI control however the AI is not great in this aspect so I'd recommend against it.

If you're a fan of historical naval warfare or are just a warship nerd in general, I think it's quite likely you will enjoy this game. Don't let the complexity of building a warship put you off, they make it accessible without losing too much of the creative freedom(while still keeping it all mostly realistic). The designer and battles are it's strongest points right now, campaign still needs tweaks but for me it was a great deal of fun even unfinished. There are also some great mods out there for it. Keep in mind it's still in development so that means updates can and will break your saves, should be obvious though to anyone who's played a game in development before!

Since I'm a bit late to the party, I can't speak to any issues before I got the game. Since I've gotten it though the game has been fantastic, very democratic and violent, it's glorious. I've only been diving for 34 hours as of this review and the game is very far from getting old to be sure ;)

I'm late to this game but it's one of my absolute favorite submarine simulation games. While I do enjoy games like UBOAT or Silent Hunter 1-3, this is the only one to attempt to do much more modern technology compared to WW2. Cold War era naval tech is something spicy, much faster paced but can be just as slow and methodical as WW2 era if you play in the 1964 campaign, with some upgrades of course. Just a note, this game is hard, you will die, repeatedly, but believe me it makes your successes so satisfying. If you get DotMod added in, it's honestly kinda necessity, the sheer amount of extra vehicles, features, and rpg elements it adds is so welcome, I wish it would get a bit more polished as helicopters(in the mod) don't seem to function most of the time, only enemy choppas do.***EDIT - This has been fixed now***

Playing a frigate or guided missile cruiser is so much fun, really gives you the feeling of being in command of a powerful ship. That being said, playing in a surface ship instead of a submersible is like playing the game on hard mode, and it's already pretty tough till you get the hang of it. On the plus side as long as your captain doesn't die you can keep the campaign going. One thing never gets old and that's wire-guiding in a torpedo on a sub for some surprise butt sex xD it's lovely.

One of the better indie games I've played in awhile. It's a nice chill game, easy to learn, sufficient depth to keep you engaged, I love it so far. Imagine paying for Diablo 4, instead I can get me and 4 friends Dave The Diver and have an infinitely better experience. Thank you for this game, it's a bright light in a sea of overpriced mediocrity.

Early Access Review
I think this could be a good game eventually, has a wonderful intro mission, but beyond that the experience becomes flat and repetitive. Some of the systems need polish as well, like the stealth system can get a bit wonky. Most of this is ok for an early access title and if you want to support the devs, by all means buy the game, it is reasonably priced and has a lot of potential with procedural murder cases and such, just needs more character as it's rather bland in anything BUT the intro mission. If they could make an actual long story to follow that would be great, or even better if they add the functionality for modders to add in their own storylines since it seems to be leaning that way already.

TL;DR - Lots of potential wrapped in a flat & bland package, here's to hoping the end product meets or even exceeds that potential, I can't recommend the game in its current state though, I just have a lot of hope for it so I will not be refunding this.

If you like boomer shooters this one is simple and delightful, with some very interesting humor, basically the good kind of "slav jank". I can't help but laugh every time one of the horses shows up xD. Well worth my time and money.

Early Access Review
The best modern(ish) day tank sim in my opinion. It does it right by not going too far into simulation land and making sure the gameplay is still fun. I wish it ran better but optimization will come all in due time(also my laptop is 3 years old), that being said I haven't had any crashes or much for bugs, surprising for an early access title. This game gives me a lot of hope as tank sims, well tank games in general, are few and far between relatively, and often are extremely tedious to play. This isn't perfect of course but it has so much potential and the devs are great, hopefully they open the game up to mods at some point, I would love to be able to get more vehicle models into the game.

If you're looking for a review on this game you've come to the wrong place, but if you're looking for an outstanding pie recipe you've come to the right place.

Ingredients:

1. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2. 1/2 cup white sugar
3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
4. 1/4 cup water
5. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
6. 1 pinch salt
7. 5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
8. 1 pastry for double-crust pie

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside.
3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices.
4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal.
5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake until the crust is golden brown, the caramel on the top crust is set, and the apple filling is bubbling, 35 to 40 more minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

The gameplay this time around is a bit more polished, some nice QoL additions, the accessibility features, like highlighting interactables, made the game much more enjoyable for me. The whole resource grind/progression is significantly easier in this game, which I think is a good thing for new players. There were still a few rare resources you will need relatively early on which still pushed me to explore around more. I felt like this map had a lot more depth(literal not figurative) on average than the first game, felt like I spent a lot of time just going up and down in many of the biomes. I've already beat the game on PS4 but I got a 'free' copy for PC and so I am running through it on PC with the map mod to see what I missed the first time around.

In any case, if you loved the first game I don't see how you wouldn't enjoy this one, it isn't a great deal different and the base gameplay and survival progression are there, it just gives you a leg up on the 1st game with how much you get early, implying they want people to spend more time in the mid/late game stuff, which was great fun. This game is easier to put it simply, but alas even though it seems like a better game for beginners, you would be really missing out on a lot of story if you skip the first one. At least do a synopsis of a sort. I'll give it an 8/10, soundtrack is an easy 10/10 though
