Recommend!
It's one of the good 'auto-shooters'. Just a bit surprised it is released as a finished game because it feels a bit lacking on the content side. - But then, for the 2,39 euro price, it's definitely worth-it!

Compared to Vampire Survivors this one plays more like tower defense rather than mob-herding.

Noob helping noob.

If you liked Halo, you'll want to give this game a try!
I've also not experienced any server problems contrary to what some other reviews say.
The game runs smooth on any AMD DX12 graphics-card I've tested so far (RX460 470 570 580 Vega and Navi) Even on the RX460 2GB I have everything on High except light shafts on medium and motion blur off; 1080p UWHD.

After playing a couple of days I think I can give some pointers from a noob's perspective. I've watched some youtube videos aimed at noobs, although meant well, most stuff in them are not very helpful as they mostly don't explain how the game works.

To start off, you do not start at "level" 1 and progress in a natural way through the game. As of writing, the game does a poor job of guiding noobs towards the actual content, but it's there if you know where to get it. (I'll tell you)

You begin with gear level 750. I guess this was the softcap of prior expansion.
There are 5 over-arching stories / expansions of which the first three are included in the game for free. Besides expansions there are also seasons which are purchased separately. So to avoid confusion, if you want to buy the latest expansion, you do not have to buy the season pass. If you plan on playing the free content first, I don't really see a reason to spend your money on a season pass YET either. Unless you really want the perks.

Once you are past the opening sequence/gameplay you'll find yourself in the Tower. The game will show you around a bit and guide you to a handful of quests. Feel free to do them if you like, you'll unlock some zones and PvP doing them.

Getting the free expansions. In the Tower you'll look for Amanda Holliday. On the map she is on the right in the hangar. She has an icon of a spaceship. Click the icon and the game will set a waypoint to her for you.

Some quick bits:
  • EDZ = Earth
  • Lost Sectors are mini dungeons scattered throughout the open world zones. On the map they are marked with a dubble arch-symbol. I recommend doing them if you're near them anyway.
  • A Strike = An instance/dungeon. You'll find these also on the maps in zones.
  • Nightfall you can find in Vanguard, beneath Earth on the destinations map.
  • Skins are consumables.
  • Builds/skills. These you find in the character screen in the upper left, right above your weapons.
  • Your primary and secondary weapon slots have the same kind of weapons (sniper, SMB, handgun etc) With the difference that the primary does physical damage and the secondary elemental damage.
  • To upgrade or mod your weapons, you right click them. Upgrading a weapon is done by consuming other weapons and only works on rare (purple, or higher).
  • Armor works in a slightly different way. upgrading armor increases it's energy level which allows you to add more, or more powerful mods.
  • Glimmer is some kind of currency used for various things, but it seems to have a cap of 250.000 . I don't know if this is expandable.
  • Don't bother buying lvl 750 gear, it's a waste of resources.
  • In the Collections menu you can reacquire unlocked gear, at a resource cost. This does not include randomized items looted from drops.
  • In the Seasons menu you unlock various items, perks as you progress through the game and gain Season Ranks. Even if you didn't buy a season pass you get some free stuff!

I might update this as I progress through the game.

You can, as far I've experienced, perfectly solo the campaigns/expansions if you want a Halo-like single player experience.

!-! Accurate info about microtransaction from some one who actually played the game. !-!

You do NOT have to pay credits to play the campaigns, The credit amount you see is your REWARD for beating that campaign level.
You can spend those credits on skins for your bots.

You also have the option to buy credits to get skins, but that's purely optional.
There is nothing gameplay-wise you have to pay for.

Idle game for gamers!
there's actual depth, strategy and goals.
The clicking is very minimal unless you choose to play like that.

The way things are named are a bit confusing at start.
profit = mana
and spells are cast with shards, not mana.
