While Torchlight II may take the spotlight these days, especially with the perceived disappointment of Torchlight III, the original Torchlight is an underrated gem. The music and sound design, recorded and composed by Diablo's Matt Uelmen, seamlessly blends the atmospheric charm of Diablo 1 & 2 with a refreshing touch of newer instrumentation and production techniques.

The game's simplicity, easy to understand interface, and familiar mechanics make it accessible to both newcomers and seasoned players. There's quite a few things that will feel clunky, out of date, and rough around the edges, especially the lack of settings made available to the player, but nothing that hurts the overall experience too much.

For those seeking a straightforward Diablo-like experience, Torchlight remains a solid choice especially when it's on sale. Click bad guys and explore dungeons.
