Verryyyy buggy... Didn't work at ALL on my Win10 laptop, but somehow works fine on my Linux (pop_os) desktop. Lots of little bugs like staff pathfinding breaking, or things getting mixed up if you get a chat from a regular while also completing a shrine or while also in decorating mode etc. But if you can put up with these, and you can get it to run on your computer, it's a very fun and addicting game! Definitely buy it on sale, or at least buy it and be ready to refund it if your computer just plain won't run it.

SO! SO! GOOD! Everything I never knew I needed from SDV. Diverse characters so I don't feel like I'm lowkey going to be hatecrimed for being in this small town. Archaeology character and world building that doesn't tip the line over into something that makes me feel uncomfortable as a Native American person - it actually ended up being some of my favorite parts and Eiland is my fave bachelor! Very much still in early access - not too buggy, but the story isn't finished yet and there's definitely more on the way. Super excited to play the first big update!

I took the dive to get this despite the mixed reviews and I really really enjoyed it! There is a lot of sitting through rewatching the same footage again and I wish there was a skip button or something, but it wasn't annoying enough for me to dislike the DLC really. People seemed to not like that the mechanics were not only different but that there was a puzzle to solve with a correct and incorrect answers, but as someone who really enjoys puzzle games I really liked taking notes, redoing it over and over again to try differnt combinations and trying to figure out how the mechanics worked so I could get the answer to slot together just right! I had a lot of fun with this, and if you're someone who enjoys solving puzzles and you liked base game, I'd highly recommend this :) Maybe wait until it's on sale? But it's a fun ride and I enjoyed the different stakes and approach it takes!

ive never played the original game, but ive really enjoyed this one! silly and snarky, definitely for a fan of dnd and older tabletop gaming. every time i say to myself "oh but its not that fun.. ill just play a little bit" and then i get sucked in for hours and hours. kind of addicting in its own way! also i love the graphics :)

fun and interesting randomly generated/roguelike city builder game. definitely worth the cheap price, especially if its on sale!

Suuuper cute game and well worth the money! From the title, I thought this game would be shorter to complete (like maybe a half hour or hours worth of enjoyment) but it surprised me with the scope of the project :) Still not an incredibly looooong game, but that's not something I always want tbh. Really fun. Extremely a mix of LoZ: Wind Waker and Animal Crossing (circa Wild World). Definitely recommend as a relaxing kick back game. Super good music and graphics and charming little world.

theres a reason its a classic. if youre interested in video game mechanics and history, this is definitely worth the play, even if you dont like horror games!

the one thing id warn someone is that, yes it is a cozy farming sim game with romancing local people etc. but its a world that was created to mimic a real life rural american town and while theres no explicit political arguing happening, if youre an outsider to the american white christian rural lifestyle youll get that weird vibe when playing. its not a big deal because everyone is nice to the PC! but every NPC is white except for two (demetrius who is a black man, and his daughter maru who is romanceable), almost all are religious and a fair amount of them explicitly mention it at times and sundays are spent at a church/shrine in the backrooms of the local shop and item flavor text will reference the religious beliefs of the world (which are not christian explicitly but are monotheistic and mimic christianity in the way its discussed), the town events include obvious versions of easter, halloween, and christmas and all interactions assume the PC celebrates these and will be participating, and one NPC is an army wife and her husband comes back from war with PTSD which, while PTSD is a nice thing to address, still shatters the relaxing world of stardew by saying "yes there is war, there are people being killed, and its probably one of those wars the usa wages just to kill people they dont like."

the storylines of the romances are fun but fairly trite, mainly hitting different tropey kinds of stories (you become the muse for a local artist, you get together with the sporty jock guy or the eccentric weird girl or the pretty rude girl, etc)

there is a lot of good mods that can edit dialogue and images to make the world more inclusive and exciting, but that also requires knowledge of how to do modding

overall id definitely recommend it though! i love this game, especially with all my mods installed

its fun, especially once you get CC/modding figured out, but its surprisingly limited on the strangest things. theres loads of dlc that take away features and items that should honestly be in the base game and charge you an arm and a leg for them, not to mention just how many there are so even when you buy on sale you dont get near enough for your money. especially because they cost a lot for having not very much in each content pack. also its allergic to linux - ive had problems with it crashing in the past, and now with a recent steam update (?) it wont even OPEN

very sweet game! cute and relaxing. beautiful art and a sweet story to match :) not quite what i expected, i was hoping for more puzzles that would get increasingly complex and there is a certain level of puzzle progression but generally they all stay pretty simple and straightforward.

+ beautiful art, music, and fully voice-acted
+ relaxing atmosphere
+ heartwarming story

* mostly story focused, with each puzzle being tied to a section of the story. not a problem, but dont expect it to be a puzzle focused game !

- controls can be a bit finicky/clunky
- a couple times i ran into spots where i would do the puzzle too quickly, and miss the story quote that was meant to come with it. this happened particularly in the final section with the suitcase. also when i did the music box, the quote at the end got cut off and even though i had voice over turned off and music on, the voice over played
- short play time/not a lot of levels. i would love more, but i know from experience u can spend days making something that then gets played through in minutes :')

takes about 1-1.5 hour to play through completely!
