There are times you pay 50€ or more for a game, you play it for like 5 hours and you have seen everything. Yeah New game+ do the same thing again...yawn...

Swarmlake is even worse. You pay less than a €, play for less than a minute and you have seen everything. If you don´t want to pay, just watch the trailer. This is all you get, so it seems: Shot, collect, survive, repeat.

So why do i even recommend this?
Because this game shines where most newer games always fail like for most arcade games: It´s essence is pure gaming.

When a big game has a story, they may also be fun when you play them, but let´s be honest here: the goal is the end of the story there.
In comparison to those big games, swarmlake does not need a large world, a deep story to keep you playing. It has simple mechanics which the game makes clear right in the beginning. That is not much, but it is enough, because it is fun.

Humans are hunters and gatherers. And the game will give you that, even when there is no point in doing so.
Because the way is the goal.

Update#1: Nominated the game in the Steam Awards 2019, because this game still gets more updates than most AAA titles.
Update#2: gets updates even in 2021. But it's harder now....
