Early Access Review
I was a massive coward who screamed at the sight of everything and couldn't handle turning corners or moving around in the dark. Then, I got a shovel and killed a Thumper.

I want to fight God with a shovel now.

Poor translations, botched jobs, questionable decisions made from either Smilegate or Amazon (or both), an infestation of bots that seemingly should've seemed obvious considering the nature of free to play games, a hilarious lack of cash shop options (at least, at the time of playing) while sometimes feeling like it wants to stab your wallet open so that you can chase the quicker upgrades for item levels.

It probably doesn't help how they handled releasing content, in general.

You certainly can play this game F2P without much issue, just be ready to spend a lot of time to do so, which isn't a negative if you really need a timesink or love this game, but if you're looking for a casual affair-- well, it's going to, again, take a lot of time depending on your goals. But, so far, it's feeling like AGS is swinging 0-2 and it just seems like another case of mismanagement, either way.

Nah. There isn't a lot of redeeming factors. As patches progressed, performance and optimization plummeted.

At this rate, it just mostly feels like there isn't enough unique content to keep anyone interested. More based on just classes which are locked behind specific gender or race combinations.

It could even feel like a costume mill so that people can keep playing to spend money on outfits.

The combat is likely the one thing that might keep someone interested. It's fun for a short time, but if you have any plans for an end game, you have a high chance of being left disappointed.

Useless drills.

Can get frantic at high difficulties. Lot's of fun. Surprisingly tactical. Lots of builds to create and choose from.

The greatest humming simulator out there.

There is a necessity for tactics and reliance on the turn() mechanic in this game, making Transistor depart from the previous game, Bastion. Bastion was more hack and slash while Transistor requires you to think out your attack.

As usual, the soundtrack and story are amazing, and both weave in and out of each other in a simultaneous effort to create an amazing ambience and setting.

The game play is short, it took me three hours to beat the entire story. However, there is a new-game+ system that allows you to continue you with a harder difficulty and allows you to retain the abilities you've gathered.

It's one of the top games I've played, and it's been a while since a story actually moved me this much. Be warned. The feels will be hit.

Walk around and punch people in the faces. Jensen style.

In reality, this is a great game with a great story-- only lacking within the sense that you cannot explore certain areas (you see all the amazing artwork back ground? Nope. Can't go there.) as you're limited to a certain sect of the city.

The ending is weak, but the gameplay and adventure through the story as you take the role of Adam Jensen is worth the play.

Because why not? Go rob a military base with a baseball bat, then we'll talk.

Insanity and laughter at its best. Get it for mass murder, rocks, explosions, and everything else that is simply amazing.
