I will be straight. If I could sum this game up in one word it would be "badass".
Many improvements have been made since the last game. The major downfalls from the previous game have been erased and the game flows incredibly well. The balance between fighting and puzzle is subtile, so much that you won't be lacking any of them and you will rarely to never find yourself doing too much of puzzle or fighting at the same time.
Some RPG elements have been included like a leveling system, as well as a skill tree and a looting system (and many others) so that the game can make his own mark and take its distances from the big hits it was first refering to in the first game.
Death feels right to play in your hands, the flow of the fights is incredibly smooth and the agility of the character makes up for War's lack of quick move in the first game.
The puzzles are very well designed and they will be often challenging without being a pain and dragging down the overall flow of the game.
The balance the developpers mannaged to strike between the 2 is just perfect.
Designed by the talented ultimate comic artist Joe Madureira and the Vigil Team, the environnements are much more developped and well designed than the first ones, be they alluring or deserted, they always feel right.
My favorite game from this generation and overall an incredible hit every Zeldalike fan should posess.
Experience Zelda with balls, experience Darksiders...
