ok so its been a minute since i reviewed beat saber last, its still my favourite game, no doubt
a couple things have changed, the base game is getting alot better. much better mapping, more lighting options, cooler environments etc. theres also the new note types but ill get to that.

to get the most of out beat saber you just have to mod it, its available to mod no matter the platform, though its alot more difficult for standalone players thanks to meta. the community is just incredible, best ive ever been a part of by miles. there are some truly amazing mods too, such as noodle and reesabers (the latter is locked behind a paywall but given what it can do i can understand).

while yes, updating a modded version of the game will break all of your mods there are methods around this that are not difficult to work with (even preferable if you ask me), i personally get behind beat saber legacy launcher but alternatives are readily available and you should do your own research there.

about the new note types, arcs are cool, chains .... can be cool.... but dont feel particularly good to play in my opinion. both can be a bit distracting but if youre already used to the insane lightshows, youll be fine.

advice to get into competitive play: beat leader offers a range of very very powerful tools that can be used to spot your mistakes, my advice is to practice and then when youre done study some of your replays and try to understand what you could do better. but that said there is no shortcut, the only way to get good is to practice. also, dont get too frustrated if you dont see improvement. sometimes you have off days, it just happens

TLDR
Great game, infinite replayability, mod it asap, practice to git gud
