A good game will make you feel you're in a world, that you're making decisions that could impact the outcome of a situation. It's about what you do, you your adventure, and for that, it should feel responsive, and minimize the noise between the game and you.
The graphics are okay, it has no style, but it works, and you know what an enemy is.
Turn off the music, or turn it way down, it helps a lot. It sounds fine, but it wants too much attention, and doesn't add to the game much.
The intro cinematic is fantastic, and some of the best I've seen.
The guns feel great, some of the big ones feels heavy, and there's some great co-op synergy weapons.
But the game itself is the most unresponsive and buggy I've played in a long while. Only beaten by FO76. Enemies walk through walls, I start floating up in the air when touching furniture, (which sounds fun, except I'm easy target for the 20+ enemies around at a helipad). We keep falling through the cliffs and are unable to get back out so when that happens, you kill yourself. Corpses of enemies still moving around, not shooting, but creeps towards you, and they block your path.
They made sure the text chat is almost perfectly useless. Not only is it tiny, it gets spammed with random messages about things your character sees, or what someone else spots. But you can't even use it during mission select, weapon load out, loading or even the long ass end game that you cannot skip.
The plants are OP, a single leaf tip brushing lightly against your character, will grind your badass marine character to a crawl, and that goes for random heel-height grass too.
Reloading takes some convincing to do, it depends if the game feels like it. A random rock you're standing on? That might cancel your reload, or close your map. And even then, I feel I need to shove 5 magazine in my gun, to reload just once.
The writing team is the star of the show, it's fantastic, and absolutely the best quality the game has.
But...
The gameplay is unresponsive, buggy, and it generally feels like we need to dance to the pipe of the game engine, and despite doing everything right, we still fall through the world, get randomly disconnected, get graphical bugs that makes light strobe wildly.

If you want to play against horde of bugs with friends and a friendly community, play Deep Rock Galactic.

I didn't think much of the game, definitely a cool title. But the first moment I moved in the game, and the first punch, I knew I was in for a ride. Everything feels like I'M doing it. I pace the game, explore as I want, and want to be as flashy I want to. At first it was like "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON! BUT I LOVE IT!" To "Wait, that awesome thing happened again was that because I did X/Y/Z?" and thus came a natural discovery of awesome movement styles and ways to kill enemies. What's weird is, even though I was dying over and over at certain bosses whacking my ass to oblivion, I never felt frustrated, I never felt the desire to blame the game. A video essay said it plain "The game doesn't contradict itself", if something interacts with hitscan, it's ALL hitscan. If something interacts with projectiles, it's ALL projectiles (Basically).
The feedback on interactions with the enemies, items, shots, everything feels so good.
What a wonderful game, thanks for reading this far, you're a wonderful person.

Forced Camera Easing is endlessly frustrating, and they did the same thing with movement, it makes the game full awful.
The Easing makes the camera feel like it's moving through honey, and when I stop moving, the camera slowly stops. After SO many years, they STILL haven't given us the option to disable it but thank god they put effort into making an in-game store for more money grabbing. Piss off.

One of my favourite games.

To-Do list for each mission:
You Spawn
You Rock and Stone
You Drink Beer
Pick a mission, that usually involves mining
Rock and Stone while you travel to Hoxxes in a Drop Pod
Obliterate a bunch of bugs
Rock and Stone
Mine the minerals
Piss off the management with Compressed Gold or Mushroom
Rock and Stone
Making the caves look like a legendary war zone.
And head back home, leave no dwarf behind,

Greatly recommended!

One of my favourite games with friends. I love the investigative aspect of Phasmophobia.

I never were into horror, but I wanted to honour Halloween with some spooks, and the game was pretty cheap, so I asked a friend to join in on it, and it was absolutely horrifying. We came for the spooks, but stayed for the investigative mechanic.
Every ghost has unique traits, some throws items a lot more, like poltergeists, some teleports around, others start hunting you out of nowhere and very unexpectedly. With the accumulated knowledge of the ghosts, we talk about what we experience and try to pin down which type we're dealing with. Sometimes it's easy, other times the ghost just doesn't co-operate. We just don't know what we're getting ourselves into.

The game is spooky, but there are NO synthetic jumpscares, that means, no scripted events that is designed to jump in your face with a loud noise. This makes the game feel a lot more authentic.

If you plan to play it, use in-game voice. Using Discord only cheapens the experience.

Greatly recommended

It's such a beautiful game, I love the design, the visual and descriptive theme of the world, characters, lighting, ambiance.
But the game play is.. very bad. Some of the worst I've seen, only beaten by the god-awful combat mechanics of Sea of Thieves.
I wanted to enjoy this game so bad, because how unique it seems. Very dream-like and mysterious. I took some years break from it, in hopes I could play it with fresh eyes, and maybe with a patched game. But.. it didn't help, it only made me disappointed of the wasted potential.
It's definitely not recommended.

DON'T go in blind, like what seemingly everyone else says here.
What we see in the trailer, is the first part, which feels great, it's dark, intriguing and I love the story-telling and theme. Then that ends and becomes something completely else, still a card game, just 8 bit and the atmosphere has become anonymous and style uninteresting. The game will interrupt the immersion at random with meta-lore, which gets bothersome very quickly. (It just feel force-fed and at does it at random, it's like grain of sand on your mouse pad).
This game feels like different card games stuck together. Like different attempts at making a card game, and the best one is the cabin

If you're okay with this, then I can recommend it.

Don't buy it (yet..?)
This game makes very little sense (in a frustrating way), anything that would seem exciting, is a dreadful bland chore..

First thing first, the shark, cheap and poor AI, teleports around and moves unnaturally. If you're on your raft, it will eat it away every couple of mins. You can certainly defend your raft, but it's with unsatisfying spear attack animations, and if you manage to "poke.... poke..... poke.... " all the three times, it will swim away for a few mins and comes back to eat the raft again.
0.00014 seconds you enter the water, your face is being eaten by a teleporting shark, that moves around weirdly, making the battle with it even worse, as if the spear attacks didn't feel horrendous enough. Timing the attacks is hard, but that I forgive, the problem is how long the battle takes, there's practically no indication of a hit or miss, it just stops rubber-banding around (singleplayer), and you can finally sigh in relief and loot it. Litterally a few mins later it has already respawned and attacks you again, BEFORE you returned to your raft from the island you were looting.

Next up, crafting, doesn't make any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense.
Where would you guess the bed would be placed under? Furniture? Or Chests? Chests of course. Scarecrow is placed under food and water, because reasons. How about the net to catch floating trash? Under the ship tab? No, Chests too!
Okay, so now we have tools and weapons, they have durability, but some of them don't, there's no consistency. The hammer has no durability, but the shovel does, and the shovel doesn't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dig dirt or sand, we still don't know what it's for, we've tried to dig up sand, dirt, stones etc. An island full of sand? You cannot dig that sand up, you need to find a tiny fist-sized pile of sand somewhere AWAY from the sand, and ONLY under water, NOT with a shovel, but with a HOOK, you need a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hook to dig sand up with, clay, ore, everything. What the hell were they thinking? If at all?!
And the AXE, oh man, only CERTAIN type of trees can be chopped down, all the logs, and other trees, apparently have no wood. Got mangos? You cannot pick them, you have to chop the trees down.

Hunger and thirst: As with many other survival games, this was put in here too. As with almost everything else, with less than fun results. The hunger/thirst bar falls down pretty quickly too. You can run and sprint, which is fine, but the very second your bar hits a certain point, you become a cripple and can only crawl around, your vision gets blurry and you start coughing up a storm, or the stomach start growling loudly in a constant loop. The thirst/hunger mechanic isn't so bad on its own, but combined with your boat being CONSTANTLY eaten away, seagulls CONSTANTLY eating your crops, while you have to figure out how this arbitrary game works, it's not fun.

The game is not fun, it has the potential to be, we tried to find it, but it's not there, it feels like a cheap garbage game, with an overwhelming lack of logic involved.

I just beat this game, and man, what an adventure. It's not often I need a break to collect my thoughts and wits after a game, I can die happy, now that I experienced it.
