Got 20 hours of gameplay out of it, searching for every side mission and achievement.
As a fan of the movies I had a blast. Gameplay, puzzle and skill mechanics are a great mix for a single player movie franchise.
Graphics is amazing on a 4090, although the character animations are sub par compared to triple a titles.

Although the franchise is great and sniping lends itself well to VR, this game does not meet my expectations in the current state.
The graphics are way below average. My guess is that the Quest version has been just getting a very minor upgrade. thus keeping low poly objects and bland textures. Effects like smoke stick out like cardboard in the 3d world. On the upside, you get very good and consistent FPS.
Object interaction is quite bad, the hand shown hand positions do not match your controllers, making you take up cramed stances. Shooting just feels just satisfactory at all. Interacting with your gun is even worse, reloading is clunky and painfull.
Gameplaywise there is also not much going on, in the first level it does not even matter if you progress through the buildings, after some time the tanks arrive no matter what.
I love Alyx and really enjoyed the great assets of MoH despite its flaws, but Sniper Elite VR does not cut it to me at this point.
I played the first 3 levels and the shooting range for about 100 minutes at the end of july, so after the first patch.
Will refund for now, but will keep an eye on it and consider a rebuy if the handling and gunplay get fixed.

Buy if you love the early CoD an MoH, and can look past some clunky mechanics and weird gameplay choices. Also if you want to encourage bis companies to release more VR titles, the money definetly shows and makes for some great VR moments.

Otherwise a very mixed bag in all aspects, I chalk it up to the missing VR experience of (EA).

Some levels and assets are really great, some are more mediocre. Gunplay is okay, gun handling feels clunky. Same for grenades and object interaction. That said, some mechanics are really cool, like using a bomb sight. The acting is ok, the characters look good, but sway between realistic and cartoony. It took me 11 hours to complete the campaign, but there is a multiplayer and a single player challenge mode as well. Also a lot of achievements and collectibles for another playthrough. As a bonus there is a collection of well made documentaries about WW II, and you can visit all planes, tanks and ships in a VR museum to take in the actual size and awe of these machines. unfortunately this part is very dimly lit, and there is no way to get onboard.

You can see (EA) took a lot of money to make this happen, but maybe the developement had to be rushed from a certain point. As said above you can and should buy it if you like "classic WW II shooters" and want to nudge big publishers into the VR niche.

Be aware the game starts very slow with very short levels, after about 1,5 hours the levels get longer an more open.

Great puzzle game with excellent graphics and voice acting. There is no shooting or any action involved, also no shocking jumpscares.
Awesome setting and sound, really gives a retro futuristic soviet vibe.
It took me about 2,5 hrs to complete, and I highly recommend it.
(Played on Valve Index, bought on sale for 15€)

I had this game in my library before I actually started playing it. And now I am really enjoying it. It runs great, has a robust single player campaing, side missions, loot, upgrades and lots of skills to be uncovered.
Settings and controlly are highly customizable; I highly recommend it.
