I've only played the Multiplayer so this review is going to be about that. I am playing a CoD after 15 years. My last CoD was the OG MW2. My first impressions - the MP was super fast and I barely had any time to react when I saw someone sliding and downing me in what felt like 100ms. The game was insanely fast. A few hours later, getting to know the mechanics, the movement and how the guns work. Few weeks down the line, I got much better and was at 1.5KD on an average sometimes dropping to 0.5KD or going up to 2.75KD. I had a match where I had 53/25 with a shotgun which was fun.

A month later, now that I have more grip on the game, I'm noticing weird stuff that I wouldn't have noticed as a new player. I'm playing CDL players almost every other game. The TTK is weird at times only requiring a couple of shots from someone else to down me, while I take more bullets some times and still live and vice versa.

As someone who has played a lot of multiplayer FPS, and competitive Quake 3 Arena back in the day, these MP maps are trash. The only ones l genuinely liked playing are Skyline, Payback and Low-town because these had what seemed like lanes, vantage points and some strategy for positioning. The rest of the maps are open grounds with crap thrown in for cover. After they added Nuketown, most matches are now on Nuketown so players hardly get to experience playing on other maps unless you're lucky.

On diving deeper, I discovered tons of videos and comments from other players about how Richochet, the game's anti-cheat, seems to be manipulating the game in real-time to level the playing field in every match. This explained what I was seeing in game. So as it stands, MP is terrible and not a realistic experience. This is not an anti-cheat, this is an anti-game.

I'm not really a fan of weird looking skins. Season 1 is here and so are weird looking skins. There are fire breathing dragons, bunnies and what not in the maps. Season 0 had undead skins on operators and this was still OK since the operator symmetry was still maintained. Now, these weird skins are distracting and break the immersion on a military-themed FPS. More importantly, I can't see ♥♥♥♥ because of incoming fire, lava and whatever bullet hits these guys are now selling.

If this will be the only game you buy and play all year, I don't recommend this at all because of the unrealistic multiplayer experience. The skins can be dealt with, but the real-time manipulation of my game is unacceptable. If you have spare cash and want a fun arena shooter for the holidays and you don't care about anything else, you can look at this.
