After an amazingly disastrous launch I can pretty much say it's one of the finest RPGs ever made. Cyberpunk in story and themes as well as aesthetics. I hate comparing games to Skyrim and Fallout since everyone does even when it isn't apt but this feels like the paragon of what the "Bethesda game" should be.

Appropriately titled "Shipbreaker" because the overwrought story is an anchor around the neck of an otherwise good gameplay loop.

The game is actually wonderful but I cannot recommend it to anyone because of myraid problems. So many promised features that have been cut from the game or we are still waiting on. There are frequent crashes and 3rd party fixes are necessary to get a stable framerate, and bugs are in the game that are still there from the closed beta. One feature they managed to include was the cash shop which has more varied and unique outfits than you can earn in game, as long as you pay up. Overall, I would wait a year and for it to be on sale before you dive in maybe it will be in a better state.

This game feels like that one book of Goosebumps where the kid wakes up in an alternate dimension of his own life and something is a little different and its not apparent what it is. Every aspect of the story, interface, lore, and game mechanics is the best kind of weird. Its the platonic ideal of a mobile game that, when I bought it, had no mobile port. Its both a casual game and one that I haven't been able to plumb the depths of because its too hard for me. It honestly amazes me its an indie title.

There really is nothing like what this game offers and not only that but what it offers is a near masterpiece.

The only game in an absolute cavalcade of games to make the humble zombie scary again.

You know all those Dark Souls clones? Well this is the one that feels less like a clone and one that has it's own atmosphere, mood and aesthetic not derived from any From Soft games. Lovely game.
